I’m normally pretty good with sticking out Nine Club eps above and beyond a point where I probably should have switched it off. But I got halfway through the ‘new girlfriend who skates’ which is probably 90 seconds in and was done. He sounds annoying as fuck.

Usually only bother with nine club if it’s someone legendary/I’m really interested in (Jason Lee was the only one I’ve listened to in about 6 months), but this was the first one I’ve actively not wanted to listen to. Oblow is an awful human being, he has defended Jason Jessee re the nazi stuff, now from the sounds of it basically is victim blaming Jessica Bergsten
Oblow comes across as such a bellend. I bet he tries to impress everyone he meets by telling them about how his boy Josh ‘runs’ the prison and how he knows Gator. Total try hard, delusional bullshit.

I don’t know much about this guy but I’ve seen him popping up all over skate media, online mainly. Seems to be an industry guy who loves himself and has a thirst for fame…I guess that was never gonna end well.

Didn’t know the in’s and out’s of the situation other than Gator was in prison for murder. Did a bit of Google’ing. Holy shit!
Here’s the bit they’ve since cut out, with Oblow claiming it was an accident during kinky sex, rather than the facts everybody knows which were admitted by Gator in the first place, agreed upon by a jury, massively reported at the time and became the subject of an excellent documentary. Is Oblow fucking insane?
There’s a transcript of Gator’s confession on slap too.
Im not sure if it’s accurate or where it’s from but it doesn’t sound like a description of kinky sex to me.
Oblow saying it was 88 or 89 too? Has he had therapy to make him forget about this? Does he think that one of the most famous stories in skateboarding has been forgotten? His ‘I’ve been there too! You know how it goes, lads!’ follow-up was absolutely ridiculous and insanely badly judged.
I think the clip I posted above includes some bullshit about Swindell too.
