KNOX!!!!

Holy shit.

The best skateboarding is like the best food, the more time you take to cook and prepare it the more flavour you get.

Thank god we still have people like Jake and Tom taking the time to cook up a perfect recipe like this.

An instant classic.

Either him or Forrest Edwards.

Has anyone ever heard somebody say that they don’t fuck with Knox? He must be the most well liked/loved skater around!

I have a very picky housemate who doesn’t rate his style. I can kind of see it, but we have blazing rows over the dinner table nonetheless.

That was rad. How come there’s no blind bumps on those steps?

They still look so new, especially as it’s been a spot for about 25 years!
Surprised its never been skatestopped. It must brea blind man’s nightmare walking along there without stair nobbles.

Someone on Slap described Knox as “Suicu for people who have sex” which tickled me.

Ye, i remember a mate telling someone that it was called knight riders cos in the 80s skaters would go down the wheelchair ramp side of it at night cos it was a bust before midnight like it was this mythical thing. Then I pointed to the street sign that read knightrider court and he got abit defensive.

To this day never know why he just decided to make up abit of folklore on the fly.

Regarding the kids, don’t forget his job is being a skateboarder. The more time he has to skate the more success he will have and be able to support his family. I’m not surprised his wife is happy for him to go skating.

come on…that’s not fair.

That poll seems to be going in the right direction imo. I watched the Tom Knox thing four times back to back as soon as it was up, and had to stop myself from watching it a fifth time as I didn’t want to ‘wear it out’, (although I can’t see that happening any time soon). Super engaging from the first line.

The Suciu part is undoubtedly really good but I don’t find it at all as compelling as the Knox one. I seem to have to try to concentrate on watching it as, even though it’s only a four minute part, my mind starts to wander for some reason - probably not the skating, more than likely the filming/editing and music idk. It should, but doesn’t, hold my attention. It might grow on me.

It is fair though, kind of.
Not to say that skating at the level that Tom skates at is not work - it quite obviously is and takes serious amounts of time/effort to produce - but it’s still completely removed from the quotidian reality of: wake up at predetermined time to commute to workplace to perform predetermined task in the same place for contractually-obliged amount of time.
I’m not for a second denigrating Tom Knox’s work ethic but to say him not going to work isn’t a huge part of the reason why he can delight us all with footage like this AND support his family is a bit Romantic.

Caveat: I also say this as somebody who claimed they ‘worked’ in skateboarding for years but who pretty much never did a proper day’s work in my life until 2018.

With the above said - TOM KNOX IS A SUPER HERO
