Middle Aged Shed

Illuminati warning . Ha

That’s a rad design and lovey space/garden to build it in. Summer is going to be fucking great in there.

Now all we need to see are his outdoor grill, his slippers and how clean his oven is before we can decide whether to let him stay…

Nice, but a wasted cock reflection.

That is sick.

Do any of you know anyone who has one of those fancy taps. Quooker, I think they’re called…?

I imagine none of you with children have one but the concept seems pretty cool.

Edit - just read up on them. They seem a bit gimmicky to tell you the truth. Also, reports are that the sparkling water cannister rarely works when alternating between that and ‘regular’ water. Also, apparently operating the boiling water can be quite tricky whilst holding pots and pans and whatnot.

Oh we had all that a few months back.
I can’t remember the outcome if they were worth it or not. More than likely everyone just descended into c-bombs.

without question.

This is sick! I’m just about to have a garden office built (wooden), which is technically for my business / office use, but also need to fit in all my synth and guitar stuff as well as 30+ years of skate mags, and thousands of CDs and records.

Currently nothing special planned for sound proofing etc - do you think it would be easy to get the builder to add on acoustic plasterboard etc or some sound proofing measures? Or could I add something after it’s built? It does include better than usual garden office insulation already I think, more along the lines of a traditional building not a garden room.

Cor! That’s a beauty.

Me and the wife have got this week and next week off work so have spent this week texting up the garden. A lot to do still but so rewarding seeing it come along. Will be pleased when it’s done and simplified, I’m certainly more about relaxing in the garden over gardening in the garden!

Right off to put the second coat of paint on the shed whilst listening to countless podcasts.

@hugo

Dude… is that your place!?

Fucking hell!

Well yeah, so long as nothing falls through with the people buying ours.

That is the middle aged shed equivalent of a switch flip back noseblunt down a handrail. Life hammers!

haha, it’s actually 100k cheaper than our current place but it’s a mile outside the M25 and so you get more house.

I think a lot of people are able to move further afield since the remote working thing is now the norm.

Might get a Smeg fridge

Ah cool! Didn’t know you were a synth/guitar geek too, ha. def post some pics to drool over.
All depends how loud you want to play music really to how far you go with treatment. I wanted to make sure that full acoustic drums wouldn’t be heard and if a whole band were to play in there you’d probably only hear a rumble in close proximity.
Mine is dense block > Air gap > timber stud with rockwool in the gaps > 1 layer of acoustic plasterboard > Acoustic green glue > Another acoustic plasterboard > then 1k worth of special acoustic foam.
Acoustic plasterboard is so dense and heavy that it killed me carrying 50 sheets nearly 100 metres from the road to the studio.
You won’t need to go to that degree if you just want to play at a comfortable level but you definitely need to think about some of this stuff. Acoustic treatment, in the right places will do so much more for the sound in the room than anything else though, does not matter how good your monitors are etc. If you need any help just shout man.

Thanks! I’m an everything / all-round geek!

I definitely haven’t got as many synths as you (yet!!) but planning to get them nicely slotted in. My brother’s the drummer in our band, but I’m planning long term to maybe ditch the small sofa that’s going in there to make room for some cheap v-drums or e-drums or whatever for myself!

Also got some new gear ready for it - 16 channel mixer, and trying to resurrect old 4 tracks and Walkman/s for tape loops etc.

I’ll probaby be fairly happy if I can listen to music at a moderate level while I’m working, then not really much louder when playing my own warbling noises.

That’d what the Mrs wants. She’s been eyeing up the toaster and kettle as well. When we got married we simply bought the cheapest fridge washing machine etc so we are long over due an upgrade. We got given a microwave so that isn’t bargain basement and managed to get a upgrade on the washing machine as well along the way

Just finished up 10 hours in the garden today. Gonna sleep well tonight!
