Most rubbish skater to ever get a shoe

Jim Gagne had his career 20 years too early. If he had ridden a bigger board and slimmer shoes, he’d still have been terrible, but would have stunk about 46% less.

Feel bad now because he went for it. I definitely respect his commitment!

I definitely remember a Gagne section where he was in rockabilly gear with a slickback but don’t think it was any of the ones listed and I’m terrified of searching for it in case it knackers my youtube

I think Busenitz might have done just that, at warp speed too.

I’d love to have a pair of those Jason Adams Duffs shoes again. Kinda like a converse/vans oldschool pro mashup. They were super comfy and generally found in the bargain bin when bargain bins contained bargains!

Weren’t they Deklines rather than Duffs?

Speaking of Dekline, they gave Pat Melcher a pro shoe didn’t they? He’d have to rank up there if they did.

The Duffs were called the Gambler i think.

Melcher did have a Dekline colourway at least, think it was a blazer type hightop in jazzy print. Doubt they sold many.

Think Jason Adams had a pro shoe on both Duffs and Dekline maybe?

Wasn’t the Gambler Hensley’s pro model? Thought Adams’ was called ‘The Kid’. Whatever, here they are:

Youre right, I just googled and saw the same. I stand corrected. The gamblers always looked decent. Remember Raemers always skating them and making them loom good. The Bartlettas were hanging though. That poor bastard really has had the worst run of shoe sponsors

Ah I thought that shoe was nice! A bit like a Stan Smith style think but with the stripes near the back?

Some Googling has shown me Duffs are still about and doing KCK reissues.

Shoe express. Almost sent the link to my mates but thought KCK’s were better left to 1996.

Affirmative. They were awful.

I think I have only ever seen emo/goths girls wear these

They were the second Jason Adams ‘Kid’ model. The first drop wasn’t so garish.

Well maybe the faix fur leopard print ones…

He was alreet, very of the era.
His love of heelflips maybe made him stand out bit more.
Liked his Black Label sections.

Yeah I actually looked him up and I’d unfairly dismissed him. Gnarly in a Markovich way. Definitely not one to hate on. Not an all time great but respectable. Sponsors maybe less so…also like Markovich

Tim Gavin?
