Music that you feel compelled to share (live versions only?)

Remember when Sonic Youth covered that, and it was about three minutes long because as Thurston said, “We play it faster”?

Bump because I’m off to see Skinnyman on Friday and because this is new to me.

Think I saw Brutus supporting Russian Circles a few years back - they were pretty good live

Bizarre one here courtesy of Russia Today

The Monks in 1966(?!?!). The best proto-punk.

Fuzz bass, primal minimal drumming, amplified banjo scraping, freak-out organ solos, yodelling and tonsure haircuts! Former US marines who left the army/Vietnam and ended-up playing funny nihilistic music in Germany. There were impeccable HD versions of these videos up on yt for ages, with extended intros from the affable deutsch presenter, but they’ve all been taken down!

For fans of Devo, The Fall, and other good shit:

“Monk Chant”

“Complication”

“Cuckoo”

Good stuff!

Ween with the 12 Country Golden Greats band. Amazing version of Push th’ Little Daisies.

I’d love to know what Bobby Ogdin made of it all.
