Just heard this French classic on the radio.
Watching this makes me nostalgic for when music had videos you’d actually bother to watch.
This was filmed and directed by Abel Ferrara and features the bad guy from Breaking Bad. Kind of crazy.

Oh you mean Eddie Murphy / Billy Ray Valentine’s cellmate from Trading Places? Gotcha

Does the Dobie remix of You Know my Steez get an airing?

Relatedly, Daddae Harvey from Soul II Soul just died, and 6 Music explained that their hits included Keep On Movin’ and Back To Life, and their debut album, Three Feet High and Rising, is considered a classic.

They had someone sitting in for Gilles Peterson at the weekend and he was so fkin annoying, he called the Stevie Wonder album ‘Songs in the Keys of Life’ and made a couple of other errors that I know shouldn’t get to me but come on for fucks sake

vs Gonz and Guy

6 Music’s constantly so bloody self-righteous about how alternative and credible everything they do is. I stopped listening to it years ago it was doing my head in.

The best moment from recent 6music history for me was when Jamz Supernova introduced pearly dew drops drop by the “Cockatoo Twins”

A couple of hours on a Saturday & Sunday morning is all I can take of 6 Music these days.

I’ve had to resort to Abso**** radio at work FFS.

Can’t stop thinking of this now…

“It’s the journey of life. Radio 1, Radio 2, Classic FM, Heart, Magic, dead”

Totally agree. I still go back to radio 6 from time to time but only in small doses.

Currently listening to radio 2 only because it’s so middle aged and inoffensive it’s laughable.

Also back to uni studies has got me listening to classic fm again with some switching to radio 3 when I can’t listen to another Hurtigruten Expeditions / cruises advert again.

Alan: That was sweating lunatic Iggy Pop, part of our Tuesay night ‘Punk Pack’, which is climaxing at midnight with Madness. This is ‘Norfolk Nights’ with Alan Partridge, and we’re in the middle of ‘Super Talk’.

UK radio is shit. started listening to a Dutch rock radio called kink.fm. has an app available in the UK that has 3 channels - rock, 90s rock, metal

only issue obviously is the adverts and presenters are Dutch…

I can’t help but shout (pointlessly) at many of the presenters so avoid where I can. :sob:

Default station in the car. Maybe that’s where my ‘dial’ should be permanently from here on.

I can’t speak the language so that could come in really handy with the irritable presenter syndrome I seem to be suffering with atm.

Radio 3 for the most part, Scala (as of this week unfortunately rebadged as Magic Classical) and at a push Classic FM over here. That’s when in the car. At home, radio wise, it’s strictly Radio 4, 4 extra and the World Service. Proper retiree fodder.

Honestly I prefer it :joy: maybe I’ll eventually learn a bit of Dutch

My old valve radio is still going strong. I quite enjoy sticking it on SW or T or G wavelength settings and twiddling around. There’s some very interesting stuff to be found out there.
