Yeah now you mention it I do love LP5 too
Chiastic Slide was where I kind of stopped paying attention
Anyway it’s all horses for roundabouts innit

A couple of weeks back I dug out Anvil Vapre as an accompaniment for a zip on my spin bike. Opening track, 2nd bad vibe(?), was a bit of a shock to the system first thing in the morning, certainly got the heart racing though. Fortunately for me the e.p. gradually calms down from there. Probably won’t be doing that again for a while.

“Second Bad Vilbel”
Fucking killer tune
Named for the German town that’s twinned with Glossop

I think of that tune every time I drive past this sign:

Also, killer Chris Cunningham video:

Yeah totally.

Last 2 albums Sign and Plus were really accessible albums, compared with the mass of previous releases NTS and Elseq. Those are hard to conquer but have some great standout tracks (c7b2, Artov Chain for example)
The ones that I least like are Quaristice, Exai and Oversteps but again, all have highlights.

Ha, didn’t know that. GF used to live there so i’ll tell her.

That’s the puppy.

If I wasn’t quite as fit as I am I think it could literally have been exactly that.

This is a good one from their easy listening days.

Did they used to go sumo @Hadenough? They were in Sheffield a lot back then.

Yeah. They lived near you! At 42 Tavistock, then on London Road

They used to buy weed off a mate which was where I encountered them mostly. He was into making tunes and played them some of his stuff one time. Was pretty awkward.

They suggested he use synths to make drum sounds. After they left he turned to me and said, ‘I made nearly all the drums on those tunes using synths’. :joy:

Sheep, was in Afflecks Palace right? Great little shop that. Was just wondering the other day what ever became of my pair of Sheep own brand corduroy shorts. Quality gear.

Afflecks, then it was at 70 Tib Street from February 1994.

Also, Sumo Seb lived with Autechre Rob.

… at the aforementioned 42 Tavistock Road, and when they moved out Squarepusher moved in, although I might be missing out a tenant or two there

Love that and Cunningham :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I managed to pull out a bunch of incredible tunes from those.
Was definitely a bit of overload, though…hours and hours of new music all in such a short space of time.
Been a while since I’ve dipped into those releases beyond the playlists. I’ll screengrab the playlists later. And will try the ones you’ve mentioned.

Yeah, there are quite a few really cool tracks, some really groovers which stick out. Tracks like Mesh Cinereal and tt1pd are great but are 20+ mins so can overwhelm a little so are good for background to menial tasks or things that take time like decorating.
In fact, I am going to dive into all these again while i’m drawing and painting. Loads of boring filling in for exhibition pieces and I hadn’t actually thought about this but my work at the moment is kinda suited to these albums.

From Lou Barlow’s YT channel.

‘’In 1993 I ‘documented’ two Sebadoh U.S. tours with a handheld VHS camera.
To the original 40ish minute video, I’ve added some live songs from the same period.
I’ve slowed some shots down, added some text, censored some hard drug use, but otherwise this the the original procession of images.
There are short clips of Polvo, Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon’s Kitten, Tsunami, Engine Kid and Further.
Thanks for watching.
