Music thread

I went round there a few times, they had decks in the living room and I had some mixes they made on tape I dunno if I still have them.

Was that the guy who lived further up in Nether edge and I think grew the weed in his attic? He was really into it and had produced some 30% THC skunk he was super proud of? Can’t remember any names or proper details but I used to get weed off him.

These ones are gold.

I need to dip more into Elseq. Seems like I’ve listened to pendulu hv moda over and over and not much else.

It was Nether Edge but my mate was retail rather than production. You go to uni here then?

Yeah definitely recognise some as good but others i’d have to remind myself of which ones they are. It’s a Massive listen innit. Pendulu is a beast.

Yeah I did, 94-97. I lived on Machon Bank and then another street down the road, forget the name. I sold quite a lot of weed when I was living there haha. The only person I knew growing was that guy and the other guy I knew selling in Nether Edge was a guy with dreads who previously lived in a squat but moved to Nether Edge and lived with his landlord. They were just baked all the time. He used to make this pink mushroom tea from fly agarics and he kept doubles of all his favourite ever pills he’d taken in jars on his shelf…was it him?

It was sick living there, had everything you need, hills, Pop’s supermarket, that student pub the ‘Broadmarsh’ or something, sick video rental store, banging kebab shop, and the little underground bar where they had some decent gigs.

Most of those places are still there apart from Pops. The Broadfield has been redeveloped into a smart Victorian style boozer and the basement bar is now Picture House Social.

This is what NTS 1 and 2 have done. Studies for possible larger pieces. NTS 3 will finish them off tomorrow and start another maybe.

I think you’re talking about a couple of guys here who we went with up to Aviemore for a few days of snowboarding in about '95, 96
Two guys with dreads, boards rented from Boatworld, spent the daylight hours smoking with the curtains drawn
We went up in a three/four car convoy, they got in the back of my brother’s car, within the first minute they asked if we smoked, then continued on that path for the next 108 hours

Of course, this was Nether Edge in the 90’s so basically it was the white dreads and weed neighbourhood, so maybe these aren’t the same guys after all

(In fact was it you? Could have been)

Not me. Didn’t snowboard until I was 40 odd. Yeah I dunno probably not him, I seem to remember his landlord was much older. But I don’t remember much haha.

Can’t believe the Cure are back and it’s so good. Feels like Disintegration. Perfect for the utter shitness of the world since, what, 2010?

I went to see them on the tour in support of this album in 2022?!? :upside_down_face:

Word at that point was the album was imminent but no confirmed release date and that it was going to be swiftly followed by another album.

Whatever. Glad to see ‘em b(l)ack.

Forgive the namedrop; but my phone was playing tunes on random in a van when the remix of Close to You came on. Spanky was in the back.

One of the crew members loudly announced “Well, this is awkward.”

Yay.

Although…second only to being on another trip and once again having my phone on random when Let It Go from the Frozen soundtrack came on (At that point, my daughter was 3).
I tried to skip it. Got denied. 12 seater packed tour bus and everyone knew (and belted out) the words.

Epic.

Thank you!

I’d forgotten all about this. Fairly sure I had it on cassette… once long ago.

Also had a copy of a copy (of a copy) of this that I used to play to death.
