Oodles of Os

Just a banger

Guessing the second song is where Beagle got the Shake Junt name from. I know he’s a fan of three six mafia and dj Paul produced this.

Legendary!

Just been to see the Tindersticks at the Beacon (nee Colston Hall). Nottingham’s finest never disappoint.

Bizarre music vids still being made

Saw Nas in concert last night. He was impressive considering he was alone on stage besides DJ Green Lantern and Haze on drums. It’s his 30year anniversary of Illmatic and he rapped the entire album before knocking out a fistful of other hits he’s done. Pretty stoked to be honest.

Enjoyed this interview with Roni Size, seems a good dude - was really into V / Full Cycle / Philly Blunt when they came through so nice to hear him reflect on it & give props to Die, Krust & everyone else involved…

He was in Leeds 5 years ago for the 25th anniversary, it was amazing; whole album end to end without stopping and he was on point. Seemed to attract lots of nobs unlike other ancient rapper gigs in the last few years

Yeah, agree - hearing Krust play ‘Warhead’ for the first time was something too.

& Roni Sie playing that ‘Trust Me’ remix dubplate at probably the only good night I went to at the Hacienda.

Was with Bryan Gee at a Guidance night when the club was stormed by a tooled up crew - he sensibly went & hid behind the decks whilst they started robbing the bar…

From Alex Moul’s Slam City interview:

Did you ever skate with DJ Die?

I did, actually! Briefly, once, in London. I remember him doing some really good wallrides. We didn’t really stay in touch, but yeah, fair play to him as well! Another one who skated in London a lot was Jason Maldini, from Bad Company and all that. I used to take my records to his house when we’d plan on going skating and we’d end up just spinning tunes for the weekend. I remember his sister braided my hair once.

Wasn’t there a sequence of Die doing a sick drop in to melon off a wall in Sidewalk?

Anyone go?

(Afx listening event, won’t embed)

Lots of people tried for tickets.
Originally, it was a free walk in. Was going to go with my daughter.
Then they switched it to a ticket lottery. You had to be already signed up to the Warp mailing list and it was one ticket per email address. Ruled out going there with kiddo…but I entered anyway. And didn’t get shit.

No one I know did.

I wish they’d just leave it playing for a month and just put signs up all over the turbine room asking people to pipe down.
