If anyone’s been struggling with not going out in Da Lockdown, I can recommend the Jazzy Jeff live broadcast 9pm every Saturday. An hour of really good funk, disco, house with a bit of scratching in. It’s on Facebook Live.
DJ Yoda has been doing a weekly broadcast too. Anyone else got any recommendations?

These guys have been doing some good sets. Not much to look at really but good tunes

Par a few dropouts in what is a pretty tidy bit of audio I enjoyed this tonight:

Watched this last night, it’s really really great. I thought Spike would do something a bit flashier but actually the live talk approach worked really well. Definitely worth a watch even if you only have a passing interest in the Beasties.

I’ve been playing Pauls Boutique and Hot Sauce Committee all morning.

YEah watched it last night, great. If you’ve read the book it’s all pretty familiar but cool. Can’t believe MCA was only 47 when he died.

Yo we already washed that dog already

Ive been meaning to buy the book for months, so I’m definitely going to now

Yeah it’s basically the book but still really great.
I bought the spike photography book pretty much straight away after.

Really loved the outtakes style on the documentary.

The book is the one, though!

Been looking forward to Beastie Boys doc since announced and I didn’t hate it but really couldn’t fully get down with how obviously scripted it felt. Would’ve much preferred a more conventional talking head style thing, glad I watched though

I did the same!

Does anyone know if it’s going to be available to watch anywhere else (iTunes)?

Keen to watch.

it was a tour though, right? so it would need to be scripted and rehearsed etc. Must have been great to see live.

Yeah I know now but when I first I’d heard there was some sort of Spike/Beasite Boys doc in the works I intentionally avoided anything about it so went in expecting a talking heads style thing so initial reaction wasn’t great.

In hindsight it wasn’t as bad as I initially thought

I think the beauty of this - because it was essentially the book, live - is that it leaves room for more in depth documentaries.

Did you ever see these Iron Maiden docs? So good…fans only, really as they are are quite involved.

I think theres 3 parts.

Now that the Beastie Boys Story has been done, I do hope they get on with something more in depth.

Never seen the Iron Maiden docs, not a die hard fan but reckon I could enjoy these. Nice one

Love Maiden will be watching those.

I’m meant to have done a bunch of stuff this morning but I’m still in bed having just finished that first Maiden doc, again.

They just come across as regular, normal blokes no matter their levels of fame and really hard workers who are appreciative of where they are at.
I feel like its a far cry from the influencer generation attitude.

Up the Irons!
