Music thread

Since getting Traktor controller I’ve been using little bits of time to get know it.
On a couple of occasions it’s had me up til about 2:30am having lost rack of time.
That’s exactly the escape I need.
It’s great fun.
Just sorted the tracks I bought into categories and managed to nicely handle 4 decks at one.

I notice that @vital has noticed this post and shares a love of reggae.
I will be looking into putting something together with reggae at the heart of it, reggae, not edm.
I have a collection of reggae tunes that I’ve been itching to mix.

This guy has been uploading loads of old Peel shows. Perfumed Garden ones are the best imo

where is this diddle?

I haven’t DJ’d to people since 2011 when Ian Matthews and I did an old jungle set in Derby.
Before that had been a good ten or eleven years gap when I was actually one of a group of resident DJ’s at a club night.
Lockdown being what it is I got some kit to get back into doing some mixes.
The tools are available to broadcast freely.
I realise I still love mixing tunes and wondered if anybody would be interested in checking out a live streamed set.
It will be recent drum and bass so absolutely not to all tastes of the small number of people I have here but perhaps within those social circles there are people who might be interested and expand the audience.
It would be either YouTube or Facebook streams, potentially both simultaneously.
It won’t be the most professional of jobs but there ya go, it might entertain some people for an hour or two.
Anybody interested?

Edit: Ian Matthews reference early on was a local guy who would go record shopping with me from the age of about 13, originally for hip hop. We both got into jungle around 92 93.

on soundcloud man

been loving the new Puscifer. much on form

Maynard is suddenly super prolific. Stories of another new Tool album in the works already too

Love CDB. His album ‘If You’re Into It Then I’m Out Of It’ on DHR is fucking amazing.

don’t suppose you/anyone else on here has got mp3’s for If You’re Into It, I’m Out of It? couldn’t find a decent link for it

I’ve got it on CD so could rip it if nobody else had them to hand.

Bought a guitar. Now trying to learn how to tune it.

What did you get?
zillions of tuning aids available.
Don’t expect it to stay in tune very long if it’s brand new. Might have to keep checking every ten minutes of playing or so while the strings stretch etc.

Whole album is great. Like Ry Cooder if he recorded with Jason Pierce.
