I like The Mollusk because I’m basic.

I completely forgot about that album! Damn!

I love the shanty type song in the middle of that album.

The Mollusk is great but for true fucked up Ween-ness it’s got to be The Pod.

Stuart Braithwaite claiming noseblunt shove-it outs in Thrasher. Either he got waaaaay better really quickly or he’s getting a bit mixed up.

Confession: I have never listened to Mogwai. Am I missing out?

yes and no, I still think they have done some great stuff but plenty of Meh too.
I still play Mr Beast as it’s the most consistent album, only 1 real dud on there but every album has one or two good tracks apart from the last couple of albums.

Maybe his Noseblunt shoves are just a stall on a tiny kerb that he barely scraped through Builda? I guess you can claim anything if you keep it vague.
Off the top of my head, I could claim half cab frontside smith grinds to backside flip out and you’d go woah! but if you were there you’d laugh your tits off.

No. Come On Die Young is all the Mogwai you need. It’s their entire career summarised in one record. Some of Mr Beast and Rock Action are worth it too, if you’re getting into it, but loads of it is just post-rock by numbers. Those two are kinda the indie albums.

People (including themselves) always compare them to Slint, but they sound fuck all like Slint. They sound almost exactly like Labradford, a bit like Rodan, and they wish they sounded like Codeine.

If anybody asked me to recommend a Mogwai album, I’d suggest The White Birch by Codeine.

All my heavier claims…are just like this.

I think most peoples are

My friend told me that Stuart won a raffle on SC*K and then immediately left the group which really fucks with their pyramid scheme business plan.

What’s that…?

He’s writing his autobiography just now, maybe I should wait for that.
