Fair but I find it a bit bonkers. I’d say Spiderland and Tweez are probably more consistent albums than any Mogwai album apart from Mr Beast.
Not sure anyone deny enjoying that First Broadcast part that uses 2 wrongs?
Spiderland and Tweez were completely different. For a band that only made two records, those two records are massively different from each other, and not just in the Paulson/Albini differences.
And yeah, more people have probably heard of Slint via Mogwai than anything else. The comparisons were - still are - relentless.

I think’s more like a tiny curb where he over rotates a nosegrind but just stalled then shoves out off the end of the curb. But in fast motion it’s just like a nosebump shove it which was a trick that was really popular at the time I imagine he was at the age to be heavily into skating.

Ha ha, just saw this. I saw him feart of doing a fs kick turn at transport last year, so don’t know when he managed to learn that but if he did I’m going to blast some post rock n learn them too. God love him but the cunt loves a tall tale.

In terms of Scottish bands and folk that skate. Uncle John n Whitelock was one of the best Scottish bands. Jamie is rad skater and one of the best Michael Fabricants.

I know this isn’t being disputed but noseblunt shove out is well too specific to claim you do can ‘kind of’ do it.
I’d get “I can kind of backside smith” and reading that you’d just think someone doesn’t properly dip them every go.
Or “I can kind of kickflip nose wheelie” - bit all over the place on the balance but only touching down on half the attempts.
The brute force that goes into a (for some reason I’m picturing frontside) noseblunt coupled with the nimble feet for a shove out - that’s not a trick you can “kind of” do. You’ve either got that on lock or not at all.
Don’t know why I’m throwing my hat in and getting analytical here. I don’t give a shit about Mogwai.

I hear you, but there is definitely a dodgy non sliding version you can do on the end of a kerb which probably looks more like a nosegrind shuv.

He has some bangers but is quite hit and miss. Could never sit through a whole album as I hate all that bashment/dancehall shit.
There’s a sample on the new Madlib album from a tune that was in one of the best vids ever, and I can’t remember it. Wondering if it might be a 411… If you know it maybe you’ll know it straight away; it’s bugging me a bit.
