Music thread

There was a Material album in 1999 that nobody cared about but was really good.

This passed me by completely, will check it out - thanks!

Starred for ages at the original artwork of this Rammellzee single at that Basquiat Barbican exhibition a few years back (think it got reissued last year)

Without sounding too much like ive jumped on the bandwagon after reading about them in the Guardian (I am and I did), I’ve listening to this album, specifically this track, about 5 times a day every day for the past two weeks.

I honestly can’t get enough of them, first band in ages I’ve been actually excited about.

Fucking brilliant, that. Got ze vinyl…
Deffo a Drukqs outtake.

Always liked this one

Yeah, it deffo sounds like it’s from that kinda time. Fucking amazing Amen mangling in this.

It’s sooooo banging.
Checked last night and it’s on those online reissues as an extra track on Drukqs.

Nice, first time I have heard of this band, just given the album a listen and I really like the music. I’m always a bit worried I’ll tire of spoken word on tracks after the first few repeats.

There’s something about spoken word on songs I just love. Don’t know why.

Give me a spoken word chorus over a nice vocal harmony any day. Extra points if it’s shouted

Or down the phone.

Used to have this BITD.
They were talking about The Prodigy on 6Music the other day and ended up showing my son a load of live footage from them, Daft Punk, Faithless, Idles and a few more, trying to show him what live gigs are all about. Lasers and stage dives were a good intro I suppose.

Just discovered Vulfpeck, been aware of them for ages but always ignored them because I thought they were unintentionally goofy. Now I know it’s intentional.

This is honestly the most fun I’ve ever had on YouTube. Rhythm guitar for days and bass chops and it’s stupid and camp and hilarious and I fucking love it. Plus Nate Smith drum solo yasss. Great camera work too. Definitely deeply uncool.

Put it on for background noise while working earlier and lost a couple of hours of productivity time.

This whole album is amazing.

I think, anyway.

Posted this before I’m sure but I went in again and been zoning out in this since the kids went to bed, been a noisy day.
