Just dipped into the forum for my twice-annual check-up
Saw this
That’s it I’m getting the fuck out of here, see you in six months. Maybe.
Not sure who came up with this shit:
Not one mention of MF Doom or Kool Keith?
You have to scroll to 22 to get to any member of the Wu Tang Clan?
I appreciate that there are some new faces in there, but some seems exceptionally high.
Nicky Minaj over Ghostface?
Scarface over Ice Cube and 50 Cent (…and I love Scarface)?
Andre 3000 over Rakim?
Lil Wayne over Snoop Dogg?
Hmm…
I’m out.
Shit, I didn’t even see that…yes, because “Hey Ya” is, of course, vastly more lyrical then “Follow the Leader”
Wazzocks
Drake should not be in top 10, he’s barely a rapper
it’s Billboard, not even worth the click.
Andre 3000 has done some good stuff…but…he still is incredibly high on that list.
I guess there is a lack of info on how people have placed on that list.
Maybe inclusion was garnered simply my meeting the criteria of “Favoured by our intern.”

I’ve probably been living under a rock, but christ tickets for gigs sell pretty quickly these days!!!
Because I’m old as shit I thought I’ll grab a couple of tickets to see Wilco, wanted seats because standing is for the young with intact knees. within a minute most seats in the first balcony are sold out unless you want to sit behind a pillar.
Oh well, my copy of Sleep - Dopesmoker arrives today so i’ll terrify the kids with that one
Incredible album. Listened to that over and over and over.
Might stick it on today as it has been a while…
You should go see them live. I’ve seen them a few times now and it was amazing.
They’re so loud live, like to the point I think I was pushing the limit of the earplugs I normally use with the amount of bass and feedback that was coming out of the stacks haha.
Only got into them and SUNN0))) in the last couple of years, keeping an eye out for live dates for Sleep, I really would like to see them. Melvins tickets are out today too but to be honest live shows have become less and less appealing to me the older I get. Might console myself over the lack of Wilco tickets and grab Electric Wizards Dopethrone album
Never got into Electric Wizard. They are British and from Dorset, right?
Sleep played a few times here - I think I’ve seen them 4 times. I’ve seen Melvins a shit ton of times. Best shows were in Brixton and only a few years ago - they did curated nights - so one night was Bullhead and the next was Houdini (IIRC). All the songs off of those albums. And some extras…Was ace.
That said, this was the most powerful show I went to of theirs:
Sunn are fun. @buildafire sent me a shirt of theirs a long time ago. Again, their live shows are really sick. Better than the records, tbh but I guess thats how they are meant to be heard.
My favourite Sunn O))) stuff isn’t the instrumental stuff when it comes to listening at home…
This is epic:
Yeah. Dopethrone is great but I’d start with Witchcult Today if you’re investigating them.
Electric Wizard are incredible. I think Come my Fanatics is their best.
