Drove to the shop last night to pick up packlunch supplies as I’m leaving there’s a motorhome down the road with someone in it.
When I return 15 minutes later said motorhome is now parked in my spot. I slow right down to eyeball the Michael Fabricant and it turns out it’s my nextdoor neighbour. This is now his third vehicle, we live on a bottleneck and parking already a fucking nightmare, coupled with our new neighbors who can’t park for shit, I really hope he’s renting / borrowing or minding it. If not I hope gets stolen.
I realise I don’t own the road but knocking my pan in all day to come home and find I’ve got to park 500 yards down the road in the pissing rain makes me seethe.
Welcome to my world.. This has been the view out of my living room window for over a year now. We live on a terraced street and my neighbour as sound as they are have this thing just sat there because they cant go road tripping in it at the moment. They also have a small van outside as well. Just not the type of vehicle you can be considerate with on a terraced street, it needs to be on a drive.
I feel for you, I’m lucky that my front window is elevated from the street so I don’t have to look at it or my own work van for that matter, At my last place I had a spot for my van that was out the way of peoples windows as I lived in one of the terraced houses off the marsh.
They’ve got two 320d BMW’s and now a long wheel base transporter with raised roof. I hope to fuck they move and some old lady with a rarely used chiquento moves in.
Finding myself feeling so incredibly fed up of this place. Certainly feels like the whole country is just full of knobheads. The last few years have allowed a lot of people to show their true colours with Brexit, Tory’s, Trump, BLM, COVID and now the whole Prince Harry and Megan thing. I’ve just had enough. My own views feel so misaligned to the majority of the country by the looks of things. I truly hate being here, but am far too close to my family to be able to pull the trigger to leave.
Think I just needed a rant as just typing this helped. Would be great just to have a few months without people being bellends.

The best advice I can give is to try and focus your energy into the positive things and try not to dwell on the negatives too much, especially during lockdowns, etc.
I know it’s easier said than done, I find myself fuming at something that is way out of my control and I have to remind myself that it is bullshit and doesn’t deserve my attention.
People are always going to be bellends, but the world is a better place with you in it @Brewer!
The problem I have is I wouldn’t want to leave my family behind. I guess I love the place but loathe some of the people. Social media doesn’t help, and that’s something I need to take action on to take myself away from it so it doesn’t wind me up so much. Ignorance is bliss I guess, but I also don’t wanna be ignorant to what’s going on around me.
There are a lot of great people out there, a ton of them on here! Just find it hard seeing how many people have such backwards opinions. Even worse when you actually like these people outside of those things.
I’ll be alright just needed a vent, and I probably care too much if there is such a thing.
But if all you’re missing out on is people you don’t like acting like arseholes or showing off (99% of social media), you aren’t actually missing anything relevant. That and braindead moral grandstanding from those who seek to be offended.

Switzerland is like most places. What gets voted does not reflect what most people think, it reflects what most people that voted think. And we all know that right-wing Michael Fabricants vote more than the others. Sadly.
it’s weird because somehow i think of Europe as being more progressive than the UK generally but then you look at the French and they are so, so fucking racist and untolerant it’s insane

Yeah this is the one of the problems, it’s mainly set on anger/shock /outrage and rant mode so your fed this stuff daily .
My social media is this place and insta.
I’ve cut back on talk radio now especially LBC as it’s very negative and always the same stories .
I’ll dip in to Twitter but even that is just a pit of negativity.
I’d pull yourself out of as much as you can and you’ll be the better for it. The dickheads will alway be here , just not in your face to bring you down .
I’ve swapped it for more podcasts about science , engineering etc and I’ve listened to so much more music. My head is much less wound up lately. Especially ignoring the brexit thread .
