I do know this doesn’t apply to the majority of dog owners.
ah Les mate we’re fully in accord on this. so many family members with dogs and it makes everything impossible. my parents-in-law adopted a dog (great) turns out it can’t really be around other dogs without going loopy so one of them always has to stay behind with a dog
we made all of this considerably worse by refusing to allow dogs in our house. its the kind of passive aggression that makes family great
I told him I caught him on the ring and asked him to take them home. All in a polite manner, then he mumbled that I should put them in the bin and to fuck off.
Never seen him since.
Im all in for Dog Licences. I don’t take mine out on the roads round here any more as he’s getting old and it seems 90% of owners can’t control their dogs.
When I first moved in I watched a woman get dragged across the road by a Boxer and American history X herself on the curb.
My personal favourite is when a dog goes for you or a another dog and the owner pull out “Oh, they have never done that before!”
Licences for pets and babies yes!
I did park run with my wife (I only do it about once a year), and caught someone walking away from a shit that their dog did in the middle of the path. He literally watched it shit while on the lead and then walked off.
His excuse was that he had no poo bags.
I made him pick it up and put it in his pocket lol.
Word got around after the race when everyone’s having a chat and I was treated like an absolute hero! He used to do it regularly but hasn’t been seen since. My wife still gets asked about it now. ![]()
Took the cat to the vet this morning because she wasn’t eating suspecting £100 to be told she’s got a toothache or something just before Christmas and she has advanced kidney disease and lymphoma and we probably going to have to take her back in tomorrow to have her put down.
Fucking. Gutted.
This dog shitting calendar is coming along nicely.
Sorry mate. Cats are the best. Get some more
Oh mate wtf. That sucks.
Sorry to hear that BDF, losing pets is the shittiest thing. They’re proper mates/family and having that final decision be your responsibility is such a burden.
I’ve had a rejection email this morning from the Environment Agency. Been trying to find a way out of my current career before it kills me or wrecks my home life beyond repair. Been applying at the Env Agency for years because they’re based local to me and its local gov benefits are unreal. Pretty much conceded to the fact I’m going to have to hang on here until at least Jan 2026 to get through my wife’s maternity leave, but I’ve reached the point where I’m trying to make myself as invisible as possible and count down the days and hours I’m there. They’ve just recently changed my shift to try and accommodate upskilling me a bit, but they’ve done so without adjusting my salary, so I’m working just over 2 days extra a month for free, and my overtime rate has come down in line with my new hourly rate. Every day I come in I find myself disappointed the building hasn’t disappeared in a massive electrical fire overnight.
Other than just shooting my CV off randomly, I don’t really see a way out without retraining or re-education, neither of which I can afford economically or time-wise, nor can I afford to just quit and hope that motivates me to find something. I’ve seen this place kill people and ruin families and I’m determined that’s not going to happen to me, but I can just feel myself getting quicksanded into it against my will.
@Jurwell where are you working now mate. Was it logistics stuff before?
Mine and my wife’s bikes got stolen from our hallway last night and it’s extra annoying because I can home last night and thought to myself I should probably bring them into the flat.
I’ve found them both for sale locally so now I’m messaging with the guy to try and go and ‘view’ one of them without raising suspicions. Will report back
My wife said I’m not allowed.
Whatcha gonna do? Policia?
Waiting for him to reply with his address then the plan is to go wait outside and call the police to come knock on the door with me but I don’t think they’re gonna want to join.
What I really want to do is go look at my wife’s fucking lovely bianchi bike under the guise of buying it then kick his head in and take them both back but apparently that’s ‘dangerous’
Honestly it’s not worth it your wife is right. Might feel good while you’re doing it but he probably isn’t the guy who stole the bike and you might end up getting locked up yourself.
Oh 100% he is though, it got listed for sale and hour after it was taken.
I know it’s not worth it but I’ve stolen that bike back once before in London years ago and it feels so glorious riding away on it after. Been chasing that high ever since .
Yeah, chances are you’ll get stabbed and the police aren’t going to care either. Stolen bikes these days seem to be a lost cause. Most of the ones nicked from here are in containers to Liverpool or Manchester within about a day, by all accounts.
