I have a hangover from two small cans of beer. My dog has sprayed liquid shit all over my living room carpet in the night. All while my bathroom refit is still unfinished.
Feeling unclean and murderous.

Been given a weekly task to do in work which is either to start to make our processes better, or be the start of getting rid of me.
It’s a fair enough request but I was asked to start this today…yesterday. Had no time to prep anything so it’s going to be a shitshow today.
This has coincided with a guy starting with similar skills to me last week…
I’m hopefully just being super paranoid though. I’ve been made redundant before so my spidey senses are always a little bit up anyway.
Chat gpt?
Oh you know that will be my answer to this problem, just not for today.
Don’t be paranoid man you are good at your job.
Don’t worry all my ebay listings for drug testing kits got violated today no chance of appeal unless I call tomorrow. 7 months been selling on there…
Operational processes or actual doing the work processes? As in, documentation vs automation?
Very much documentation. So a bunch more admin every week.
Probably being paranoid.
Yer that’s just SOPs chill winston
Hear a munching sound under my desk…
Look down to see my dog destroying my Apple pencil.
Some creative types are just too dam good at what they do.
Sorry about the pen.
Got moved to another team at work, a new team.
Positives: I get out from under the boss I have who has done nothing in 6 years to help my career at all other than force me to come into the office one day a week for no particular reason.
Negatives: It’s a move backwards from the sound of it. Been doing L2 and L3 support and beyond for the past few years, proper project work, making decisions that have saved the company money to basically a ticket based system of L2 support.
PIssed off but during cuts that we’ve managed to avoid and there might be more in July its unlikely they’ll wind up a solid support team 2 to 3 months into it’s creation.
whatcha supporting?
a few years ago i was at risk of redundancy from a L3 support role which was getting moved to India. i left anyway for a better role but the company has since had massive issues with the level of techs there and literally started phoning people up to ask them to come back
that industry-wide shift to cheap Asian techs seems to be slowly reversing now as companies realise that you really do get what you pay for
I dont know what that means
…but yeah was literally a session to basically let everyone know wtf is going on. I was being a bit paranoid I think.
I suddenly have a metric fuck-ton of shit to do though but that’s life.
Standard Operating Practice
Monthly company meeting toady obvs not stoked but have my head round the figures this time, so I’m not crying at my desk at home hahaha.
Application support, a shit ton of software for labs n’stuff. to be fair there’s a lot of stuff that can’t be done by Indian support although they have pushed a lot of the easy L1 stuff to India with questionable success.
It takes off a bit of pressure in a lot of ways, the current boss thinks you should know everything, at any time as he may just ask something you are in no way qualified for and ridicules when you have to go and investigate it. He spent a year constantly asking about whether single sign on would get implemented, told him each time no but he kept at it, till we eventually found out he was just calling it that and it was something completely unrelated he was thinking about, which had been in place for 18 months and he knew it was.
Free’s me up a bit now to chase my front end web dev dream although I have been tempted recently by cybersecurity.
This is something I’ve thought about as well, market is massive.
There’s massive money in Cyber Security (I work in Talent Acquisition for Cyber Security vendors)
This guy sounds like a complete tool
