I did at first but quickly got used to this new routine. Thought it would be really hard as I love eating and can totally start the day with a massive fry-up then have something quite serious for lunch and dinner. It’s easier than I thought though.
I sometimes eat before going skating if I skate early, sometimes not.
Yesterday I had a mini sarnie for breakfast at 10ish, skated non-stop for almost 3 hours and had a burger with fries at 5ish, strangely. Wasn’t even that hungry until 5. I drink more water too, which isn’t a bad thing.
Ah that’s interesting
Intermittent fasting is one of those things that too many people who go in for fad diets go on about, kind of puts me off it
Basically it just sounds like skipping meals which I think I can do
It’s exactly that. I never thought about going on a diet until my girlfriend started doing that this summer and it’s really easy. At first I only did it 4 days a week, at work, but now I do it 5 or 6 days a week without any problem.
I’ve known a couple of people have done it that it worked quite well I think. I used to to fasted commutes - so I’d ride 6 miles then have a light breakfast, that seemed to work pretty well too.
He’s working on small, sustainable change at the moment. Less, better food, more regular exercise. It’s steady but seems to be working.
Can’t remember the last time I ate breakfast before 11. Maybe last year at a hotel?
I can never do breakfast. Can’t eat before 10:30. Sucks because I think breakfast food is delicious, I think it should be illegal to stop selling breakfast food after “breakfast time”. Discrimination.
Yer man! Something about eating early just makes my stomach turn.
Remember them bacon rolls from the place nextdoor?
I read something along the lines of: skipping breakfast in the morning may not be as effective as you’d think because a) putting some food in there in the morning kick starts your metabolism for the day, where you’re burning more calories generally and b) not eating means your body actually goes the other way into starvation mode where it reduces metabolism to conserve energy.
Maybe eating smaller meals regularly like with 5:2 diet would avoid these problems but if it works it works I suppose.
To be fair there seems to be a fair few people who have had good results skipping breakfast. I did it today and didn’t pass out, let’s see how it goes
Now known as intermittent fasting. If you go swimming, cycling, do a strong workout, etc. before breakfast at 11am, it ups the metabolism and helps shed fat apparently.
I couldn’t possibly function without breakfast
That’s like torture, you’re a grown adult why not have breakfast? Breakfast is so rad
I rarely have a proper breakfast. I’ll grab a sugar waffle or mini banana bread thing just before I go to work but i’m that busy with the kids before school that I don’t have time. I guess a little snack like that is technically breakfast.
Fry-up around 11.30am
Brunch for me.
Went and had a salt beef reuben the other day and it was phenomenal.
Mmmmm salt beef reuben insert homer drooling here
I don’t even know what that is but sounds good.
Is that the 24 hour place?
If so…droolio
Haven’t had one of these in ages a salt beef hoagie from a place in Cardiff. Jesus fuck it’s good.
Salt beef, cream cheese, tobasco, a sauce made from mixing Tom sauce and horseradish together, pickles, Swiss cheese and fuck knows what else. Jaw lockingly massive.
So. Fucking. Good.
