Sky Brown dislocated her shoulder on Sunday. Still plans to compete (but might be wise to cancel yer bets!). She’s had some terrible luck with injuries this year!
All hopes now rest with Andy Mac.
Competing so soon after that kind of injury sounds like madness to me but presumably a doctor has said it’s possible.
Is the skateboard park at the same place as the BMX?
It’s a really bad idea and could do more damage. I’d imagine they’d have to whack her up with cortisol to make the pain bearable.
I’m trying to see it in the best light possible, maybe it’s not a severe dislocation, or something?!

Same area of Paris, different course. They have made a concrete bowl complex especially for it.
‘Street’ takes place in a park, and ‘park’ takes place in a bowl. It’s common sense.

my 12 year old was querying this. he couldn’t understand why street was a skatepark and park was a bowl. why not call it park and bowl. i tried to explain but the words made no sense as i said them.

seems pretty obvious why street is called street but yeah the park should be called bowl.

Edit: I’m finding a lot of conflicting information online about the gender history of the Algerian competitor.
She did compete at Tokyo 2020 and in lots of other women’s boxing competitions.

She is a woman who passed the IOC’s gender screenings.
I really doubt a country like Algeria with medieval views on gender and sexuality would be happily supporting a truly transgender athlete.
We now have Queen of Awfulness JK Rowling spitting her usual hatred online. As you might expect she was silent about the convinced rapist competing earlier in the games.

Apparently, Dutch law doesn’t deem “consensual” sex between an adult (Velde was 19) and a 12 year old child as rape.
