It was awkward but I’m quite stoked seeing Girl get him. I’m pretty indifferent about his skating but he seems to be one of the bigger names now so Girl having that pull rather than Primitive or April feels rad to me.
On a separate note - Lucien skating in Gucci trainers on his insta yesterday…
This feels very much Girl acquisition and recognition.
Evan can feature in edits, ride the boards and still not make the team.
Lil Dre just hops on.
Not knocking Lil Dre because he’s very good. Infact the girl team could wasily lose some of the dead weight and have a very solid stacked team. Gass, Bannerot, Bennett, Rowan, Lil Dre and McCrank for posterity. The rest can go.
Maybe they could add Karl and Campinello to Chocolate?

Yer I mean I can’t think of a single video part of his that springs to mind.
But I’m 36 and he’s probably someone I’m not gunna keep tabs. He had some sick bits in the last Dime Glory Challenge.
I absolutely loved Chocolate and just feels like those two brands are just fading into nothing the last 10 years.

I agree, it seems like a long time since Girl/Choc were properly cool and they currently just don’t resemble what did make them great in the first place.

This it’s not a dig at Lil Dre per say, more like they were close to getting Louie Lopez before FA etc. That’s a whole different calibre of skateboarder IMHO.
Seen him do that again just now, looks like no one really cares.

Lucien is a funny one. His shoe seems to sell well but presumably he’s getting paid with a capital P for being cool and churning out instagram lines and selfies in funny glasses.
Wait, what? Of course he’s going to be paid well if his name helps sell product, which clearly it does.
He’s also a very good skateboarder - he’s not just cool guying it and stealing a living!
I can’t imagine DC are too stoked about him posting skate clips on socials in another companies shoes though. I wouldn’t be if I worked there.
Not shitting on Lucien at all. I suppose I meant that he’s not really got the same output as Shanahan and Jahmir, but does do a lot more cool guying.

I would imagine DC are more worried about keeping the lights on like most other shoe brands than what shoes a London fashion guy is wearing in an IG story but who knows?

I remember being at a premiere for a vid (I think it was The Learning Curve) in a pub somewhere near Lower Marsh, he was too young to be allowed to get in the pub so he watched the vid from outside while we older heads were having pints inside. It was pretty cute.
