First UK Asics rider in dougie george?
Jacob Harris is filming their video right? Anyone else getting put on?
I swear i just saw an Instagram clip of Ollie Lock wearing a pair?
Possible seeding. Very much doubt Ollie would be getting a paid deal though. Dougy is internationally recognised so will be getting ££
Doug got announced / announced himself around Xmas, right?
Woops, not paying attention
Woot Antonio durao and hjalte are on Hardbody!!
The fuck is Hardbody?
Been going for a while but not really done too much- in a interview with Peter Sidlauskas from Bronze recently he said he was giving Hardbody advice on how to go ‘more legit’ so guess this is the start of them trying to make it a bigger brand.
Not too sure but is it ran by Emilio Cuillan? He’s made some dope videos like the DANY video which is one of my all time faves and then also this Hardbody vid from other year, as well as more stuff which has always been dope.
Sick name for a steroid tablet company, not sure about anything related to skateboarding though.
I looked on their insta and they have 0 posts.
Strong marketing approach.
For Hjalte to leave Polar for this whatever it is suggests that all is not well at Polar, surely?
Obvs Hjalte will be getting paid a lot from nike but Polar wage must be deece too. With a kid to support, he must have actual reasons for dipping from the brand that kinda showcased him to begin with.
Hardbody is either going to be really sick or a complete flop. Hard to call it. Prices are £££. CSC got some bits in gonna check it out today.
Didn’t pick up on any acrimony from both his and Pontus’ ‘good bye’ comments, but yeah, I imagine Polar are one of the better payers so there may be other things at play. I heard that Pontus is a lot more hands-off on the day-to-day management these days?
Hjalte probably makes good money with his Dancer stuff.
Pontus was building a house in Portugal then he moved to Paris and I think he lives in Mallorca or somewhere now. Might be going through a midlife crisis.
I definitely see less Polar stuff these days. They always had a shit distribution here but you’d see their stuff loads anyway until say a couple years ago.
I listened to a fair amount of podcasts with Thibaud Fradin, Gégé Daclin, French Fred, Charles Collet and Benjamin Deberdt and from what I remember they all said Pontus was really hard to work with as he was pretty mad.
He said that the other day haha
Yeah, seems like a massive gamble. The people behind Hardbody don’t strike me as the most organised, plus the streetwear trend seems to be dying down and board sales are stalling. Feel like the brand will disappear in a fog of weed smoke.
Is it? Interesting… I’m not saying it’s not, I have no idea really.
I wonder what kids and cool guys will wear in 3 or 5 years. Who knows?
At least the graphics are good…
Also, only £57 for a PS Stix with wheel wells - bargain!
£263 for that flannel shirt
Not sure I’d agree on that, Supreme and Palace seem to have plateaud but look at a brand like Always (DWYSD) just had an adidas shoe pop up release which looked like it had an amazing turn out. Then it’s not skating but Corteiz is huge. Think there’s always a gap in the market for the hot new thing clothing wise just takes the right push and social media presence/ cool people wearing your shit.
But yeah agree that Hardbody don’t seem organised/ driven enough to really blow up like that
I honestly don’t know if Hardbody really even intend to sell any product. It just seems to be about creating brand mystique and high value hype these days so that other companies can borrow your cool to sell basic shit.
Opening their own London shop too, I think.
