Ah Yes, I was actually thinking of the inteceptor. Just looked and the Scimitars were by Reliant (of Robin fame) Not so reliant if they caught fire.

This is pretty mad: Subaru made a model for Saab (aka the ‘Saabaru’) which was basically the Impreza WRX wagon with a Saab front end on it. There was one in the UK I was looking at importing to the mainland but it went before I had the chance to go see it, was dirt cheap at 2k as well

Had a Saab 95 for a while.
It was basically a Vauxhall Vectra with a different shell.
Nice car though.
The driving position was like being in a cockpit.
2.3 litre turbo thing, went like stink and so so comfy.
As for estate cars, I picked up an Audi A6 while I was in Sweden, that was comfy and huge.

Best and most fun car I owned was one of these…

Everyone I know who’s had a Saab is fiercely pro-Saab, even years after they got rid of it and it’s cost them a fortune

I loved the 900.
There was always something unusual about their style that I liked.

Ignition by the handbrake felt totally bad ass as well somehow.

Brother in law had a few saab softops and ever single one blew up. I think he still talks of them fondly. They must have had something about them for people to love them, dunno what it was personally. Maybe the engine tone had a soft ASMR purr and they had some weird comfy slot underneath the steering column.

My work colleague has thing for estate rockets. Had a S4, RS4 & RS6 in the space of 18 months. Somehow he had the RS4 & 6 at the same time, brand spankers from the show room (deprecation over 4 years though… unlucky!) He is one of those crazy dudes who spends thousands on mods and re maps and other stuff to make them even faster.

I won’t go to much into it but 2 years ago we nearly ended up in prison thanks to those cars.
The speed is just too fast, no car needs to be that quick.

Im not a fan of estate cars myself, just don’t like the look of them, but it is fucking funny smoking everyone in a grandad looking car!

I know I could Google Earl or that Breaking Bad Movie on Netflix that I can’t remember the name of, but is that an El Camino? It’s lovely.

I’m a big fan of older pick up’s, estate cars and vans.

I’m trying to get a VW T25 back on the road at the moment. :crossed_fingers:

Honda Jazz dinged to shit, love my whip.

Yes. Mine was a 1974 in blue.
Earl’s is either a '73 or '74.
5.7 litre Chevy 350 small block.
Took up a space and a half in length in your typical supermarket car park.

So rad!

Yay, good luck. I’ve got an ex-police T35, with a bed and a fridge. I don’t want to start a convo about VW vans - I know nothing about them and don’t care. But good luck with yours!

I don’t use it for work or shopping or anything, but it gets a regular outing at least every other day, when I drive to a curb that I could actually walk to in 10 minutes, and have a skate. It burns diesel like a motherfucker. #savetheplanet #gretathunberg

Fact that that Volvo estate smashed it in the BTTC series back in the day is so good

You’re not wrong - I drove the M62 a couple of times last week (Britain’s highest motorway, apparently) and it was all over the shop. Good times.
