Came across this on the Heroin website. Is there a point to this or is it just some fancy fad? Does it make tricks easier or something? Just sounds like a good way to scuff up your fingers more when carrying it and chip your board quicker to be honest.
Or am I being dumb and this is just a joke based on the graphic?
No the graphic is a joke based on the shape of the board. They look like they’d give you a nasty shiner when I’ve picked one up in the shop to have a look at.
For the first time in my life I need to buy a tv but have absolutely no idea where to start.
Who makes good TVs? My criteria would be under £500, smart, 50ish inches. I watch a lot of films and do a bit of gaming. Anyone got a decent tv they’d recommend?
If you haven’t had a TV in years I don’t think you can fuck up too hard. I just picked something that fit with the decor and size of the space I had and went from there to fit budget.
We only have a 32" TV but it turned out to be a pretty unpopular size with scant choice and actually turned out more expensive than a load of bigger TVs. It’s a Philips TV with Android and pretty average to be fair. Was about 350 bones.
LG over Samsung, be careful with ultra HD it can ruin TV shows if you watch them. Movies that are made for it will look brilliant but regular TV looks really “fake”. I know a few people who’ve had to lower the quality of display because of it
We’ve got a Philips one but it’s not android, it’s their own smart TV stuff. The screen is great but the UI is atrocious, really laggy and badly laid out. Ended up having to buy a FIre TV stick even though the TV supposedly supports the same apps natively. So yeah, stay away from those.
Funnily enough our tv has just developed a big purple blob at the top right corner. We’ve got a bt box that does all the apps way better than the so called smart TV does.
Was gonna say, might be an idea to budget for something like a Chromecast or similar as in my experience smart apps are a bit shit. Plus they stop working - our 32" Panasonic must be six or seven years old now and is completely fine, but most of the apps have disappeared and those that are left run really badly.
Got an LG back in Feb and the apps run pretty well.
Much quicker than the 5 Yr old one we replaced.
They run far better directly on the TV than from the SKY box too.
Got one in December to replace a 12yr old Philips with no apps / no nothing.
Works well, loads of apps and stuff that I haven’t even looked at installing.
I need to buy an HDD for it if I want to record stuff though.
