Pointless Topics

I can’t exactly remember the footage and I cba finding it right now but from what I remember Harry claimed ollie over bs smith, then rolled up to the back of the rail ever so slightly to his left, ollied over to bs smith, stuck it second try and rolled away.

All five people on the session accepted that it was a bs smith without even thinking about it.

Not questioning it, just seemed like a fine line. Only wanted to know the exact detailed physics of it.

Oh I know! It’s definitely a fine line. It’s like that Alexis Ramirez fs feeble or bs smith debate from his sk8mafia part!

What’s the difference between the black and orange versions of Photosynthesis? Got the orange one but there seem to be black copies around… Was that a reissue or something?

edit: PAL and NTSC, supposedly.

Was just on a call with about 160 people and someone forgot to go on mute and said “AHHH I FUCKING GIVE UP ON WORK TODAY”. So good. Never seen one of those happen in the wild before.

Just saying what everybody else was thinking.

Maybe black copies were made for premieres or something?

Never heard about black ones, you’re fine with the orange one.

The premier copy is actually a different edit. There are two copies in existence that I know of…

The colours are just the difference between PAL and NTSC.

Pretty sure mine is black and my menikmati too (not red).

Right, I think Munzenrieder recently mentioned something along those lines in the Mostly Skateboarding podcast.

Isn’t it when the videos are made they don’t make the PAL versions in the states, they just FedEx the BetaMaxs over, then have them reproduced over here (no point sending over all those tapes when you can do 1 faster by airmail and just get it repro’d along with the box art). In that case maybe the repro houses didn’t have jazzy colours, just plain old black.

At least that’s how I remember it working

Just survived a weekend away in Edinburgh under their new Covid laws… It proved more difficult to get a meal after 6PM than it did a beer! It was lovely to walk around a very quiet city in great weather…

Was wondering how you got on today… There’s worse places to have to wander around if you’ve not been, anyway.

This is wrecking me because I’m shit at maths.

Google is showing these numbers for a campaign:

Cost: £1812
Views: 103,055
Average cost per view: £0.02

How does that work?! Surely views/average cost = £5000 ish.

How has a 100,000 view only cost 2p?!

Help me. pleeeeease get me out of maths jail.

1812/0.02 = 90,600

Seems about right if some views were charged at a lower rate or something. Disclaimer: I don’t know the first thing about adwords or whatever this is.

I’ve been dividing the wrong things. Thanks!!!

@Les_Zeppelin you need to do it t’other way around.

so 1812 divided by number of views (103055) will give you cost per view

= £ 0.017582844

Rounded up is 0.02 (avg cost per view)

The inaccuracy is because you’re doing it the other way around, using the rounded up number to calculate how much the cost should be

So if you take 0.0175 as cost per view, multiply by number of views (103055), that gives 1803.46. It’s slightly out because I’ve missed out some decimal places
