Pointless Topics

Lots of posts about further education and retraining! Any advice on where there is potential money to be made after a bit of training or a course? I’ve heard coding mentioned a few times (although I have exactly no experience).
I’d like a career change, and at 42 feel like if I don’t change soon, I’ll miss the boat.

Thank you!

Udemy courses are generally good and I’ve found decent value for money. They Helped me study for my MCSE in data management and analytics, coupled with a few books covering the exam content.

Just wait for the frequent ‘sales’ - like Euro car parts they pretty much have permanent sales so £13 is the go to price.

Is it like a qualification at the end?

They have a printed course completion cert at the end, of little use. However they’re good prep IMO for the real cert exams (AWS, Microsoft etc) providing you get a decent course and instructor :+1:

Tunnel Vision 😱

History has just been made and a new Guinness World Record written by @costadario after he became the first pilot...

I wonder if they held their breath.

That is cool because it’s in a tunnel but it’s nothing on the red arrows.

You’re actually the second person who has mentioned Cyber Security to me! I think I’ll do a bit of research ( although I’m far from a computer boffin. I can handle ‘cutting & pasting’ and that’s about it lol).

My mate is heavily into it and has said its basically writing blank cheques.

Theres a learning curve obviously but its an emerging market with a ton of potential. Ive done quite a bit of freelance writing for him and its fascinating

Just searched for ‘Welcome Skate Store’ and the top result was Welcome (the shop) on Parade, and the shop site wasn’t even on the first page. Found it via a tourist site called visitleeds. Seems a bit mad that Parade is right there and the actual shop isn’t.

Did exactly the same just now:

I guess you’ve looked at their site more recently than I have, and I’ve looked at Parade more recently than you have.

Speaking of Parade; I feel a bit stupid for not having asked already, but what is Parade and where did it come from? Do they make their money just by advertising or do they have some kind of additional charge that they levy at the point of sale? Is it legit?

Independent skate shops sign up to it and sell skate stuff via their website. The price is that charged by the skate shop but Parade will charge the skate shops commission on each sale. A lot of independent skate shops seem to have signed up for it, seems legit. You could always use parade but then go on to the specific skate shop afterwards though.
