I had a go in a bowl on someone’s surf skate today. The trucks are so turny you can go straight up and do a 180 carve straight back down. Or at least the guy who owned it could. Me I just fell off.
What the fuck is a surf skate and I feel that I doesn’t belong in here.

Really interesting article. Doesn’t address Manchester Council’s totally shit provision of skate spaces very well though.
Also lol at the Nottingham Council spokesman’s obliviousness to Skate Nottingham’s efforts, despite the latter working with some of the council’s partners.

They’re not the ones with the two bits of pivoting deck separated by a bar. They’re like a fat skateboard with a short nose, big soft wheels and weird trucks that turn much more than normal skateboard trucks

Yes - it’s a whole other world. I get the sense that they’re mostly used by surfers as a way of training when they’re not on the water.
