90s mysterious Mariano was the coolest (but prefer he beat his demons obviously). He was literally relearning to skate at a pro level for FF, no? He didn’t think he had a full part in him at that point.

Just hate watched two minutes of his FF part. So awful in retrospect. The music just seals the deal.

These comments worry me haha. FF is such an integral video for me, if I hear literally the first 5 secs of ‘is there a ghost in my house’ I can physically feel myself back in my uni halls watching it.
I haven’t watched Mariano’s parts in years, but I always thought the general consensus was FF Mariano good, PS Mariano bad?

Marginally better.
Just rewatched it. I would argue the tricks are mostly tasteful (other than noseblunt heel shove, which opens the door to much much worse in PS) and the music is perfectly fine. There’s a bit of filler that could have been cut - some lines that do nothing - but it’s Mariano’s style that’s mostly the worst thing about it.
He’s very top heavy, he looks like he about to topple over every time he lands a trick.

I felt guilty thinking he looked like he had crack legs at the time of FF. Really stiff. To be honest it wasn’t that long after he was seen in an Epically Later’d with his blanket wheN the FF vid came out I think. The Epically was the Koston one maybe? He’s like ‘hey Guy!’ and Guy looks like death…
The more recent footage I’ve seen on instagram he looks better and a bit looser.

Is he filming for a new part? Feel like there’s been talk of an upcoming Mariano Nike part for a few years now, first with that Federico guy filming it and now with someone else. His fairly regular trickle of Instagram clips suggest he might be.

Out of interest just watched Guys FF part as it has been a while. I love the opening 12 seconds. Apart from a bit of stiff legs (and I’m really being picky there) it has - in my worthless opinion - aged really well. Edit: not my taste in music though! 
At the end of the day he is one of the best ever and coming back from his issues into that FF part is amazing regardless.
And us of a particular age and vintage were likely talking about how great he was 32 years ago…

You’re right, if you have a career as long as his, and you have that much talent; you either put it all out there or artificially reign it in. Would have been silly never to film any of that just to be cool.

I’m not a professional critic, but the only fault I have with this is the vest top he’s wearing when he hi-5’s mr koston about half way through.
Edit: And when he voms just after I paused it to type that bit up there.
I was just replying to nav who asked if he’d had any other parts since FF. We’re all discussing him and the different points in his pro career but I don’t think I’ve actually criticised him once?
