Fun lil’ site to see how damaging various levels of nuclear attack would be:

Top fun.
Just dropped the Hiroshima ‘Little Boy’ bomb on central London, got 82,000 fatalities. But dropping it on Orkney got only 90 fatalities. Only 70 on the Isle of Man too. Why not just nuke the Isle Of Man now, fresh start and all that.

Also, dropping Russia’s largest tested bomb on my house in Sheffield, would give everyone in Manchester third degree burns. That’ll teach 'em

I can fuck up London dropping the Fat Man ‘Nagasaki Bomb’ on Maidenhead.

Dropped fat man on the village I grew up in. 120 fatalities.

Basically my family and a few cows.

I dropped one on Streatham and caused 10 million pounds worth of improvements.

(oldest joke in the book)

As you’re talking about explosions: I work directly opposite this old power station, albeit over an expanse of water, forgot it was being partly demolished today, the explosion was really, really, really fucking loud and our whole building shook, doesn’t look anywhere near as impressive on the video but not everyday you hear what a “proper” explosion sounds like…

Part of Solo was filmed there a while back, and some of Mission Impossible.

This freaked me out as I drove past the Atomic Weapons Establishment today.

One goes off, I’m Carbon

That near Midgham somewhere?

Pretty much! you go south at A4 Midgam to the other side of Aldermaston

wondered if anyone else saw this comedy thing on bbc - they did a pilot one about 6 months ago and i thought it was great so was pleased to see another four 10 minute episodes. very strange and trying to describe it wont do it justice, but i loved it. couple of highlights - a song about standing in dog shit, and his front door taking the piss out of him in the style of a football chant, and i think many of us will know someone a bit like his mate jonny wallop

Live near a Lidl?
I recommend these highly.

I can’t ever spell rhythym however many times I try. I just looked it up and still got it wrong

Rhythm in English, rythme in French.
Literature in English, littérature in French.

I don’t know why these are different considering they have the same Latin origins.
French words are usually closer to the original Latin words than English words it seems.

Now let’s find a joke about Brexxxit.

Spanish, French and Italian are basically all Latin. The ‘Romance Languages’.

For some reason, this page opened further up to a comment about the new Zero video. So, here’s a very brief review as we had a premiere of it in Leeds at the weekend.

The opening section (which doubles up as a slam section) is cringe inducing and instantly makes the video feel dated.

Chris Wimer has the opening part. He’s wearing Emerica slip-ons in his first couple of lines which sparked the realisation that this is going to be a full length video full of people without shoe sponsors. He skates to a Patti Smith song and the filming and editing is pretty good. It restored hope and made me think that maybe it’s not actually dated but rather it’s just true to form for Zero. By the end of this part I was wondering why Emerica just put Dakota Servold on and not this guy.

Reggie Kelly has the second section. I’d never heard of him before. Basically every clip is in slow motion but justifiably so. The song has a ‘The Good, The Bad & The Ugly’ theme vibe to it which, coupled with how the guy skates, made me feel like it was channeling Sheffey’s part in A Soldier’s Story. This is seeming quite promising so far.

James Brockman has the next section and it completely slams the breaks on the promise of the two openers. I was bored after two tricks.

Jamie Thomas next. Kudos to him for still going at it but I thought his Cold War part was a way more interesting “I’m past 40 and too battered to skate handrails so here’s how I’m going to switch it up” type of section. People would go ape shit if Kevin Rodrigues did his ender.

Next up, friends section. I quite like that Zero still champions these. Leo Romero does a good crooked grind. Halfway through Nyjah showed up in a wizard cloak and I was over it, went to the bar for another drink and didn’t bother watching the rest of the video.

Yeah mate, I watched it tonight and found it really long and boring, and I was always a fan of Zero.
John Allie’s tricks were dope, Chris Wimer’s backside nosebluntslide to fakie on a rail was something I always wanted to see. The flip to grinds/slides bit definitely had some kind of early 00s Zero vibe to it. Was James Brockman ever interesting? No. JT had some decent stuff. The vid as a whole sucked. Didn’t feel like a Zero vid. Or felt like Zero is dead.

I quite enjoyed the Zero vid. The slam section opener was sick…in both senses of the word. The first guy did so many kick flip rail variations I got lost in it. James Brockman was shit and there was loads of filler but I really liked the tail slide someone did on a bank by some water and the second guy who did the fakie Ollie with neither of his feet on it :slightly_smiling_face:

And of course…

Zero hasn’t felt like a thing for a while. I think it happened around the time JT had to many fingers in to many pies with a shoe company and three board companies and the whole thing got spread far too thin and he’s never been able to get it back.

It’s quite hard to look at.
