Ive forgotten how to sleep for a full night. So tired.
I haven’t slept for a full night since October, or actually around 2008 if I’m being honest.
Do you know why you can’t sleep?
If its not my daughter or cats, I still manage to wake up at around 2 then struggle until I have to get up for work. I’m generally busy on the day, not stuck to a desk. Just got really bad at sleeping. Going skating Thursday evening so I best get a good bit of sleep tonight
Came across this pic from the Birmingham Museum of the Que Club in Brum, I’m guessing late 90’s. Check the guy bottom left in the Dope Clothing T!
The first two thirds of MJ’s part in Fully Flared is dull, it should have just been select tricks from those first two songs and the entirety of his final song. Fully Fluff.
Ha, the Que club was a bit like that, old theatre with lots of winding corridors.
Same here, since mid-November I’d say. I wake up between 2.30ish and 3.30ish every night with mild abdominal pain and my brain just won’t let me fall asleep. Took me a while to figure out what it was. Turns out it’s a mix of gallstones, fatty liver disease and mental exhaustion. See if you experience any of that.
The gallstones issue is no big deal, I have to get my gallbladder removed in two weeks which will help. The fatty liver disease is nothing to worry about at this stage either, I changed my diet 2 or 3 weeks ago and have already lost between 7 and 8 kilos. Pretty crazy. The mental fatigue stems from stress at work this past year and stress can bring back trauma. I grew up with a very unpredictable and very impulsive father who suffered from depression which led to alcoholism, and I’ve been perpetually on guard ever since. I’ve been working on it and am much better than I was 10 or 20 years ago but all the shit I had to deal with this past year has recently put me in a state of heightened alertness (aka hypervigilance) which is the reason why I can’t sleep. It’s not that bad in the end and I’m working on it, I kept skating, drawing, socializing these past months, I’m not depressed or anything, just tired and feeling kinda jet-lagged in my motherland.
Get an abdominal ultrasound if you experience stomach discomfort at night, could be the reason why you don’t sleep. That and stress, of course.
Take care mate.
Cheers dude. I know i should be eating better. Been on a bit of a mild diet/cutting out evening snacks. I love biscuits.
Its probably a bit of stress keeping me awake. Out tonight and hopefully @Mike will be too!
Try a low dose of melatonin, it’s not a sedative more something to do with hormones released when its nighttime. Also don’t have a phone in the room
I went for a health check on the NHS, did full bloods and it showed that my magnesium and vitamin d levels were low (apparently most everyone’s vitamin d is low and no amount of going outside is going to fix it in winter here). Anyway been taking supplements for those and whilst it wasn’t too bad before my sleep has definitely improved, possibly as a result of the magnesium, it can affect melatonin too apparently. But maybe worth getting some of that stuff checked if you haven’t already.
Seen two adverts today on YouTube, from Sainsburys and Tesco’s, both of which were clearly made with ai. Horrible stuff.
Sadly I can’t boycott them as I need to eat, but it’s so depressing to see
I started a little side hobby of taking photos of what I call ‘broken bikes’ where a bicycle has been scavenged by the street people and I had enough of them to start an insta page @broken_bikes_london
I invented a grading system relating to how many components have been taken. Stage 8 is the pinnacle with only 1 component remaining, but there are two ways to achieve it - the easy and quite common way where someone has only locked the front wheel to something and the thief has just taken everything else in one go, or the more elusive holy grail where everything has been picked off over time and only the core frame remains…
Once I started noticing them I saw them everywhere I went, but they are pretty much invisible to most people
I thought more people would find it organically and be interested in it but apparently not as my meagre 12 followers would indicate lol
Give me a follow if you like this sort of thing
i did some life maths this week.
using the idea of 3 score and 10, means middle age is 35; which leaves 35 years for both middle age and old age.
hitting old age at 52 is not a happy thought ![]()

Just made that 14 ![]()
Took this the other day, have lots of photos sat on my phone I keep forgetting to add to ‘Today’s photos’ thread.
Read this caption as ‘When Jesuits meet skateboarding…’ Perhaps would make for a more interesting video.
Forecast to be 45°C tomorrow in Melbourne
