My father in law died from asbestos. Started feeling funny in August 2020 - Died Dec 2020.

No symptoms until then.

We bought a top floor flat 20 years ago in an old terraced town house. Our ceilings were the eaves so the timbers were exposed and were coated in black paint with some white stuff underneath. Decided it would be a good idea to sand it all off to reveal the wood underneath as it would look nice. Put paper masks and suits on but not the proper asbestos ones as it never occurred to us. The dust was everywhere for months. I try not to think about it too much but it’s not looking good if the paint had asbestos in it, which was common in old buildings.

Did someone in here 3D print a skateboard hanger for mounting decks on the wall? I have some to hang up but I don’t want to drill into masonry.

Yeah Horsley did - let me find the insta.

He hasn’t posted on the monkey hangers (Hartlepool reference) in a while so just shout him at his @sidewalkhorse insta. He’s still making them, complete with mini spirit level embedded in it. They’re sick

Oh sick I have his insta thank you!

I’ll DM him. Doubt he’s gonna want to shop to Australia but I might bribe him for the print design

How are you gonna hang anything if you’re not drilling into the wall?

I used 3M hooks at my old rental which had brick walls. No failures, but was only there for about 18 months. No in a place with plasterboard walls and use the 3m claw push in picture books.

Am keen to figure out a way to hang boards horizontally though. Got a couple of horizontal graphics I don’t hate. Might work out some kind of 3d print to handle that at some point. Reckon print orientation to prevent snappage will be the key thing.

Nail in the wall. Fishing line through the truckholes. Job = goodun.

Those 3M command strips are fucking strong we’ve had fairly heavy framed art on the wall for ages. I think these board hanger things are designed to not need any drilling which is why I was asking about them. On plaster just hammering a nail is enough to hold a deck, done that loads of times. I tried the 3m hooks and they worked for a bit but they’re a bit small

If still available, Monkey Hangers come with command strips.

After all that faff that jacket is fucking crap, dead short, it barely reaches my belt line. Arms, chest etc fine so its not the size. I guess thats the fashion at the moment. Getting returned. Fuck you trend hoppers just make stuff that fits properly

Might get the original one repaired

Random Q&A for @hugo

Do you still have that Ragga suit you wore for that challenge thing (I forgot which video)?

Any good stories about Death missions to random spots like buried bowls or sewer pipes?

No I wish I did. Think Palace made a version though

Yes lots of good stories and spots and times in the van

When Kipchoge did the assisted one a couple years ago there was an outrageous stat about his 5k splits putting him in the highest pinch of park runs ever recorded.

Found it.

It’s crazy how fast they’re going vs how steady it looks. If I’m sprinting at that pace I probably look like I’m running for my life.
