There’s so much missing. Some is replaced with Spotify house-band cover versions but so, so much good stuff isn’t on it. Think of it as a radio where you can request certain things rather than ‘all music’. That’s the bad thing, people will be all, “Hmm, there isn’t any music I like, I’m gonna get into Pokemon instead”.

You can pay to be ‘considered’ for their recommended playlists.

Is Spotify worth the money would you say?!

I’ve always bought physical copies and avoided streaming because of how shafted the artists get, but I haven’t bought any music for ages anyway and I’m listening to music on Youtube at work all day with awful adverts…

Is it gonna rinse through data if I use it for an hours commute every day?

ah ok. I doubt that Distrokid has the revenue to pay for that though from the pitance they’ll make from artists with now reach.

You can download from Spotify, so I end up picking a couple of albums or making a playlist and downloading it whenever I need it and deleting it when I don’t, so you don’t rinse your data.

I’m meant to be doing a screening of Baker 4 in about 2 hours and it’s not online yet. Anyone got a Penis Massage?

Edit: just seen you wanted it two hours ago.

He’s been running the Butterkist advert over and over to kill time until a link becomes available.

I have Apple Music free for 3 months, Spotify free for 3 months and my car has a deezer supscription.

Apple sounds better, spotify seems to have more songs and algorithms can’t be beaten. Deezer has the least available.

Physical media is archaic

I have Spotify free on my work phone contract.
Can’t fucks with free.

No De La Soul on Spotify. Dealbreaker.

Spotify doesn’t have everything but it has loads of stuff and it’s really good if you have unlimited data with your phone deal. Get a family sub and share it with your partner/fam/mates. It’s pretty cheap. I can’t see myself buying CDs again.

I got a family account for something silly like 5€ a month through work

I really think it’s poor though. When I first got it I thought ‘Right, I’ll just bung all my old Northern Soul playlists on there’, looked up the first one and the first 5 songs weren’t on there. So shit.

I’ve some how found myself in never ending recommendations of shoe gazer indie hell on Spotify, that I can’t get out of!

Record companies and artists need to pull their fingers out and get on ALL streaming platforms.

De la soul is understandable though.
There used to be hardly any dead Kennedy’s and like two Fugazi songs. NO prince either.
Think everyone’s accounted for now mind.

Cheers, got it sorted in the end

Yeah Tool came on in the end too.

Anyone worried about Spotify or similar rinsing your data, an average mp3 of a song is what 4mb or so?

The average webpage these days is probably 1-3mb of stuff once you factor in images/trackers etc.

So in the 3-4 minutes you listen to a song, you might look at websites totalling much more than 4mb.

So as far as data usage goes, Spotify is pretty reasonable in cost/entertainment ratio
