RIP Bruce the OX Kelliher

The para from his son really wrecked me. RIP Bruce.

So there’s at last, a new skatepark being built in Tralee where Bruce is from, and it and the park it’ll be in will be named Ox Park after him -

Here’s a short interview with his brother Graham on Radio Kerry earlier today, really gives a proper idea of what he was like and all the legendary myths surrounding him.

A few weeks back, a handful of us had a memorial / pilgrimage to Marseille which was Bruce’s favourite park and his eldest lad Ruben took his dad’s spot on the trip.

Rad. I bet that meant so much to his son.

Fun Bobby and some other Irishmen went on a road trip from Switzerland to the south of Germany (where, I think, Bruce had relatives, but my mind is hazy this morning) this summer. Looks like they had good fun.

Jay Doherty has a great way with words -

A year since the phone call at my front door, news that The Ox had crossed to the golden shore. I’ll search for a few words, words like strength and compassion, like craic and ceol. His presence was unlike any Id met in that time in skateboarding - kindness, motivating, pure silliness. Your energy touched us all sir and we are better people for having shared some time and space on the planet with you.
Life passes too fast, the past year alone proves it…be fkn grateful, make good use of your days, help a brother, skate tuff, gorilla walk across a pier full of strangers, go get yours however you do …
