Fuck yes, that’s rad. More Zered, less Valls.
Why is it ok to use this as a defence in this instance but not others? People get super defensive on here when something they see as “legit” gets criticised. Does no one see the irony of trying to shut down the conversation when something like this comes up, while not even being able to mention certain things without having to add a “oh not that I care this is wack” caveat.
(not aimed at you mick just using your quotes as an illustration)
I like beer, glad to see Hop King get involved in skating and provide something aimed at skaters. hope to not see any criticism of them again. How does is affect skateboarding anyway, right?
Because the beer is shit. LV demostrably make a good product.
Or the beer is ‘not to my taste’ (and not to the taste of anybody I know who’s tried it), rather.
I’m in CAMRA and my local is one of those places, so just my opinion. I don’t think I’m a beer wanker but I do know what I don’t like.
Is it actually shit though? If it really was bad then no one would buy it and the company wouldn’t have lasted 5 minutes. If it’s not shit then they just make an acceptable or even good product so no difference.
It’s the image, innit? Brewdog isn’t a good beer, but they’ve done all the right thing to make people want it. They’re not showing up at beer festivals or winning any brewing awards, but it’s an accessible way for folk who don’t really care to get an IPA/APA. Same as Hop King are doing.
So it’s not shit then? I just don’t really see how that good product logic worked myself.
Oh well, pretty sure I read somewhere that Lucien would be following this up with a full part so if it’s to the standard of his recent footage then it should be awesome.
The thing is, it’s up to YOU to decide. If you like it, awesome, if not, no big deal.
I don’t like it and I don’t think it’s what it wants/claims to be, but what the fuck do I know? This is a forum. Exchange of ideas, opinions, etc.
fuck me whats going on here then?
That’s not how opinions on the internet are supposed to work.
I think we’re all losing our edge.
Maybe this is a sign that skating is more mainstream than we previously thought? Those sorts of brands normally align themselves with movies stars and footballers. I wouldn’t spend £900 on a pair of skate shoes personally, but I’m sure there are people who will. Will there be a new side-hustle: shoe reselling?
I’ve got some news for you…
Hop King sponsors whack dudes like Backflip Geoff. LV sponsor Lucien.
More velcro ![]()
Who’s been asking for this? Why the heck would anyone think this is a good idea. Surely the velcro will just open up when you try to flick a kick flip…
No one over the age of 8 should wear Velcro shoes
Amazing.
Velcro really is the perfect way to fasten your shoes, especially in skating. Can’t tear, stays secure until you open it, etc
But it just looks so shit
