Shoes

Not sure if they’d be advertsing it in Thrasher if the retail was in line with their other shoes, but who knows?

I just don’t see them ever releasing a shoe that’s not in line with other prices. They also only sell direct. Why would a shoe be 1/4 the price just because it’s a skate shoe? It just doesn’t seem in line with LV.

It has to be £500 at least surely.

I can’t see it.

That shoe from LV, given they have had a price hike on stuff in the last 6 months. Min 700 If your lucky, put me down for 885

Edit

This is the closest looking shoe I saw so It’s got to be upwards of 890

Having Virgil running it makes it clear they want to attract some cooler, younger people to the brand, so I think it’ll be expensive but not ridiculous. Still way too expensive to skate in, but who knows? Can a luxury brand offer something affordable and still be luxury?

They’re taking the piss out of their customer base anyway with the prices for their standard looking shit but lets not get into that, we all know the reality of fashion brands, you buy into it or you don’t, but if they do these at a cheaper price then they are showing their customers that they are taking the piss out of them, flaunting it in their face. They have no argument for better materials, better made etc, they just show their markup for what it is. So this will be expensive, close to being inline with their others. You’d have thought.

No, they’re making exactly what their customer base wants. Hence them being their customer base.

They’ll pride themselves on making the most expensive skate shoes.

And people will buy them.

They don’t need to make them cheap.

They are not going to mass produce them like they’re saying on the Nine Club, it’ll be exclusive and expensive. LV doesn’t want everyone down the local park wearing them, how uncool would that be?

Edit: Also liked Steven and Kelly talking about going and buying $300 wallets from LV, just to have them but the shoes are going to be $150, okay, haha.

Well, no, the customer buys into their idea and pays what they ask. They want to spend that money on the best thing they can which will make them feel great about themselves. Not saying this is wrong, i’m all for people making themselves happy with spending money on anything. I don’t feel I need to do this with fashion but I understand why others want to. All good.
But you know very well that those shoes they have made on the site are not costing £500 a pair to make and a healthy couple of hundred markup. The cost is not in the shoe, it’s elsewhere in their company outgoings, whatever that may be, and these shoes pay for that. That’s fair enough. I just can’t see how a brand can disguise differences in model prices without highlighting their profit margins. So I feel that these shoes will be in line with their current range.
I’m trying not to add my personal feelings in this though, so i’m not having a go. If you have money and want to buy expensive things that make you feel good them good on you. (aimed at humans in general)

The profit shoe manufacturers make on a pair is way less than people think.

This explains it well:

Yeah, getting a designed shoe to market costs insane amounts. Fashion brands have a history of putting out copies, hashes, simple versions of shoes that already exist. That’s fine but they are not spending their money on complete re tools and moulds. Not saying they are not spending more than the average brand, they probably are.

Things are getting weird at DC:

Shoe bukkake going on there

They look like the kind of trainers you buy from a market stall for £8.99

If Homer Simpson designed for DC.
