I’m going to skate some of the original Gazelle Skates next. For some reason I’ve been hoarding 3 pairs since about 2008.
Pretty much why I am so stoked haha. Impression I get is a bit more durable materials.

Exactly. They look right but they’ll be really comfy.
The did a Gazelle in the first few seasons when they came back properly. It had a visible air bubble in the heel sole.
That’s the one I mean. I’ve got the red Busenitz ones, a blue pair and the other ones might be black and white? The Busenitz ones have some weird oil stain on them so I’m going to skate them but they others are barely worn. They’ve got padded bits around the heel to lock your ankle in too.

They did some cool stuff back then. Didn’t Tim O’Connor have a high top with a strap too? Bit like the ones Shier skates at the moment.
Was that a Gazelle? I was convinced they renamed it the adidas skate and it wasn’t as slim and had a normal tongue.
Panels were the same. I’m calling Gazelle.

If my Accel Slims had a bit more cushion and durability, I think they’d be the perfect shoe. Anything like that out there?
I’ve got the same sole on my es Sals. I use footprint insoles and that makes a huge difference.
That and regularly shoe goo. I get about 2/3 months of skating (2-3 times a week) out of them.
I used to say the éS Swift/Swift 1.5 was my favourite, but now I’m definitely going to say the Quattro. Got my hands on three pairs currently so I don’t run out for a while.
