More than likely a sound investment.
The fuck you wearing them though, the shops?
Not really that much if you prorata how many years you’ll have them. Total cost of ownership has the be smaller than replacing shit shoes every other year right?
Isn’t this the man who said he’s wearing a suit all Xmas Day?
In the 80’s it’s was those or these golas
I went through them at a rate as a kid but with 2 brothers my parents were skint a lot if the time. Got ripped for wearing them by some, but Many kids had them round my way.
If you had money you had the filas, British knights, Adidas gazelles and reebock (now) classics.
Ha, touché.
Ive genuinely thought about buying some silver shadows in the last year or two. Basically anything that doesnt cripple feet is alright in my book
Thats all we’ll get after Brexit, I’m hyped
Wife just came through with a HEAVY late Xmas present
Huge on detail and loads of editorial. Only lacking a deep dive on ACG and doesn’t touch on some of the mad early SB stuff (like the URL) but well stoked with this.
Ecue (sp) in there?
Nope, just Dunks
Non-skate New Balance for you then.
I was about to order another pair, but a moment of madness I’ve ordered some Kalis Lites because I’m so dope. I’ll definitely look like a dork and they’re probably not as comfortable.
Hope you went half a size up.
by school shoes you mean something smart reyt? obviously got a lot of options living in northampton but i’ve always waited for the barkers sale and got something from there (no idea if they’ll still be doing it in covid times but it’s usually a once or twice a year job), way cheaper than you’d normally pay and only really really slight defects most of the time - https://www.barkershoesoutlet.com/
if you’re talking trainers then my mate does the marketing for these - https://crownnorthampton.com/ not my bag mind you
also - i completely agree with your mate, i spent £150 on some barkers 8 years ago & wore them everyday for work for years, apart from the odd resoling they’re still in great nick. worth the investment tbh
Snap, very pleased with mine.
I’ve got some Grenson brogues. They’re great. I tried Trickers but the shape was a bit weird. They’ve lasted me about 10 years so far, been resoled once. Only come out a few times a year though.
If you’re going to drop that kind of cash make sure you try them on first, I wouldn’t order online (unless you order a shit load and send back the ones you don’t like).
I sometimes look at fancy expensive shoes, 'cos I like the idea of spending a bit more and having something that’ll last. Sustainability innit. But I’m currently rocking a pair of Clarks boots (yeah, I’m that middle aged) that I picked up in an outlet five years ago for about 40 quid that are still going strong - I’ve just had them resoled and they look pretty decent now.
