Shoes

I’m a 7 and I copped a 7 for both of the NBs I got, both seem to fit fine.

Just ordered some converse “to skate in” which I’ll likely never wear or skate in. Cheers!

Yay small foot friend!

I know someone who asked the sizing question to 3 NB employees, and got 3 different answers :joy:

Sounds about right.

I reckon that depends on the shoe they skate, though.

Like, I know emerica slip ons fit spot on, but the rest I need to go half a size larger.
Or, maybe it is the other way around?

Either way, if you only skate one style of shoe then your answer will be different.

My DMs turned up. Fuck me. I forgot what breaking in shoes was like… Jesus.

Yeah shoe design and comfort has come a long way since Doctor Marten invented his orthopaedic clogs.

Hard to break in, it seems.

Soak them in water then wear them. It softens the leather. Got taught that in basic training our troop sjt(he was rifles so it’s with a J not a G) could tell who had and hadn’t done it because sweat would soak through the leather leaving a white mark.

Yep. Too small.

:foot::foot::foot::foot::foot:

Half a size up was still too small?

Nah ordered size 11, have had a few pairs of dc recently for skating in and that was perfect.

The Kalis Lite are just past the limit of snugness to get away with. I hate returning stuff through the post.

Half a size up has been fine for me with a few DC models, NB is more of guessing game in general but for the only pair of Numeric’s I’ve had (the 420) half size up was also ok.

The Stage 4 mid was banging!

Seems like that shoe lead the way for Gilbert’s future pro models. The Stage 4 tested the water for the Wafflecup sole, which was the main feature with Gilbert’s first shoe, and now there’s a high top version of his second pro model it feels like the design’s come full circle.

I’ve got still a got a pair of Gilbert/Alien Workshop Stage 4 mids fresh in the box. Deadstock, if you will…

It’s his colourway in here you’re on about right?

*Edit: Whether you give a shit about Vans nerdery or not, there’s some very good skateboarding in that video. The Future Islands section at the end is like a little tour clip.

Ill watch it now but the grey ones. I got a couple of pairs from Powley because we’re the same size and he hated them. Saw the AWS ones but they were all £90+ on eBay and really wanted the greys. Such a good shoe

Never saw that, thanks.

Two things: damn, I really want a pair again now. And how did Vans ok that video without seeing they’d misspelled professional in the end graphics?

Bizarrely, Anthony Acosta just posted these photos of Gilbert’s gap to grind from that video.
