They turned it down. I can’t be 100%, but I think it was because it wasn’t deemed good enough.

I feel like Magee spoke about that somewhere as being something which gave him a kick up the arse to make WFTW even better.

Or maybe its on a title card before the L&F DVD Extra?

Maybe.

Nah that’s true, I’ve read that somewhere as well.

I think is was.

Just got some Nike sb blazer lows. First pair of Nike sb been in vans past few years mainly slip ons and I’ve only tried them on and they feel awesome.

Anyone ever had any of the Vans MTE stuff or anything similar? Want something that’s going to keep my feet dry when walking the dog or on walks that aren’t too taxing without wearing my massive walking boots which take about 20 minutes to put on and look like dog turd out of that context

Yeah i’ve got a pair of the sk8 hi’s. They’re about 4 years old but I only wear them in winter so they have held up quite well. I imagine the newer release has been improved as well but i’ve been quite happy with them.

I reapply the waterproofing every year and obviously they’re no replacement for actual walking boots but for a walk around in mud or snow, they’re good.

I’ve got 2 pairs of “weatherized” Etnies. One pair (Jefferson mid) is a fair bit older and the grip was always slippy in the rain. Looked cool though. The other pair have an inverted version of the same grip and are much better. Waterproofed (to an extent, as water will still get in through the ankle area) and 3M lining so they’re warm as toast - I put a different, thicker insole from a pair vulc Accels in there and it made a huge improvement. I use these the most for light rain and mud, they get a lot of use - https://www.etnies.com/eu/mens/shoes/jameson-mtw-4101000470.html
I’ve also got a huge chunky pair of DC winter boots which I got back in 2012. Waterproof, but oddly cold in the snow and somewhat slippy given the grip. They don’t get used much, so there’s little impetus to upgrade them.

I’ve got a couple of pairs of Asics Gel Lyte V Goretex. They’re super comfy, 100% waterproof and breathable. They don’t look ‘outdoorsy’. They do a mid top version too, (the MT). The collar fits tightly so that you can’t get any water/ mud/ sand/ snow/ whatever in your shoes. The neoprene sockliner means that they’re wearable without socks. They cost around £130. The thing to look out for though is that, apart from genuine sale discounts, there seem to be a bunch of cheap fakes about. I bought a pair from eBay. No Goretex lining, the ankle collar doesn’t fit snugly and some of the detailing is off.

Speaking of goretex, came across these the other week, still trying to work out why they need goretex in bright orange round the heel

I had some Converse Counter Climate boot things a while back that were so good. They looked like normal converse high tops but have an inner “sock” bit made out of neoprene. They’re crazy warm, I used to wear them in deep snow in LT all the time and they were my go to dog walking boots.

You need to get a size or two up as the inner layer is pretty tight. But if you get them to fit right they’re really comfy. They look a bit bigger than regular cons but they don’t look like proper boots either.

Bants, Flatspot and plenty of other places have these for £90. Bought a pair. Sucker for Superstars.

Because Off-White made text on shoes cool. And Converse probably know that some people don’t care what it says.

Like the massive current popularity in Levi’s t-shirts. Levi’s hasn’t got cooler, they’ve just realised that enough people nowadays want a centred white-on-red logo on their t-shirt, and some of them don’t care whether it’s a box or a a batwing shape.

I tried my first pair a few months ago I posted a clip thrashing them in the stoked thread, I was impressed with how quickly they broke in. I’d had pair of consolidated drunks years ago which were pretty much a carbon copy of an sb dunk.
My only complaint and it’s more to do with how I wreck shoes, is lace protection once the laces break at the top the elastic tongue straps inside are pretty deceiving, couple of occasions the show rolled around my foot one ending up with a rolled ankle.

I’ve been wearing slips ons in recent years and mainly wore vans and thought I’d change it up. I also fancy of a pair és at some point but I have 1 pair of shoes til they’re dead and then get another.

Fully thought that was a terribly-named trainer shop I didn’t know about.

I’m utterly shocked there’s still plenty of transparent Suoerstars for sale…
