I am kinda stoked to be able to buy New Balance shoes which are UK made. Nothing to do with protectionism or anything, just that they are homegrown.

I’m at a point where I’m not too concerned about how long my shoes last. Weird I know, but I’ve had shoes in the past which would take forever to die, like the Nike E-Cue. They were a rad shoe, but I got bored of wearing them.
I’ve had about 10 pairs of eS Accelerate and Accel slim. They last a couple of months, and that’s okay with me.
Should Vans stay true or push tech innovation? I think they should stick with what they know. Sometimes that will be popular and sometimes it won’t, but chasing the market is never a good way to go, in my opinion. They will never be able to compete with the big shoe giants for their r&d for tech, but they have their history and heritage within skateboarding that no one else can compete with.
Same here. Half Cabs and Crockett 2s usually last 2 months or 2 and half months, fine by me. They’re usually not even completely dead by the time I start skating new ones, I just really like shoes and get new ones because it makes me happy.

How’s the fit on them? The ones I ordered online (533) came in way too small, and nowhere nearby stocks NB for me to try some of these on…
I got mine in the NB shop in London and they told me to get half a size bigger than my normal size. They fit right - but if I hadn’t known I’d have got a pair too tight

NB are always small for me too. I go a half size up. Even a whole size is fine though.
They are great shoes. Fuck sportswear skate brands, but I wear them because they’re good and also because Mackey.
I’m a 9 but got a 10, but the 10 was a 9.5 if that makes sense? So weird. Glad I could try them on in the shop first.
Got some shoe envy with the NB, might have to get some from Aussie as NZ has fuck all.
Weirdly, New Balance Numeric seem to run half a size too small for me, but with the regular trailers I can go half a size smaller than normal.
I’ve definitely found Numerics size up small. 10.5 is a perfect snug fit, 11 would probably be ok. I’m usually a 10 in most things.

I’d say that looks like it is advertising Reynolds being on Vans.
Only in July though he was promoting his new shoe on Emerica.
Seems a weird move, I wonder what the benefits are for him (other than obviously Vans having more money than Emerica).
And a huge loss for Emerica, he basically is the brand. Or actually, is it? Maybe a chance for them to focus on younger dudes. Who would be the longest serving member of the team after Reynolds - Spanky and Leo?
I did have that issue a year or two ago but I was recently given a pair that are perfect in size. Maybe they’ve sorted the problem?
