Bought 2x pairs of DC Lynx, could barely see the laptop screen through the heavily rose tinted specs as I clicked ‘buy’.
Anyway, finally arrived (eBay sale, to UK then sent from there to Estonia) and put them on and thought ‘omg I look ridiculous they are huge’ even with these massive cargos I’ve been running and put them for sale on facebook.
Long story short due to accidentally watching Sabotage X DC vid, Brian Panebianco’s part twice, thought they looked amazing again, took them off sale and wore them out skating with aforesaid massive cargos. Still look like a complete bell but whatever YOLO
I was worried about the toe ‘feel’, but the really weird thing is the mid part of the shoe, middle of your arch, there’s barely any feel. No idea if heel is hanging off side of board or not. Will just have to keep looking down.
This is me with the Busenitz as well. I’d never owned a pair but always loved them, saw some in a sale recently and copped, opened the box and was in love; put them on my feet and they fit perfectly, just looked wrong. I’ve got quite “tall” feet and the tongue bulged out completely ruining the profile of the shoe. Had a pair of Vans Crockett 1s that never looked right for the same reason.
I swear to god this is the best thread on here. The equipment thread appeals heavily to my obsessiveness but skaters are so much more anal about shoes than they are about setups
Question. Would you skate a shoe that didn’t skate well if it looked great? How important is “look” for you?
I’d skate a fucking Croc if it improved consistently
Anyone else here a fan of chukka lows? This is my 4th or 5th pair, not much life left in these but damn they skate good I’ve progressed more in this model shoe then any other and yet it’s so simple, not to mention there almost always on sale at the vans outlets I believe I’ve been in these for 6 months (with the help of this rubber ina tube stuff)
I’ve worn mine to wander around a fair bit and they have really softened up. Had a little skate in them and they feel pretty great. Really similar to the Project BAs I’m skating despite being visibly much fatter.
Lol funny you say that cause today was the last day I planned to skate them I noticed the last few sessions the foot pain getting real, on to my half cabs, I just hate breaking in new shoes
Yeah I don’t see them much at the parks anymore but for some reason my feet love them I don’t really get it they just work lol I always try other shoes to have a little variety in my life but somehow I always find some for super cheap and if you get the skate edition (suede and upgraded insoles) they are
I really can’t skate shoes where the grip has just disappeared.
I actually try to never film in shoes I am skating just to preserve this for as long as possible.
