Point two. If the upper is anywhere near as flexible as a Half Cab it’ll surely just bend and split away from the sole, if it’s not as flexible as a Half Cab see point one.

I had some shoes back when I was a teenager that had a nice stash pocket but can’t remember what they were maybe some dvs
Circa did the best ones on the first few Muska shoes, the recent Sabotage Lynx looked like it had something very similar. Don’t recall any DVS with one but I only had one pair from that brand ever so I’m not too well placed to confirm that.

Well I suppose the Half Cab itself is a mid so not too far off being a boot anyway so I guess it’s just making a more casual looking hiker boot for people to buy?

I have a new unworn pair in dark brown with a white sole that I bought years ago. They’ll likely remain unworn.
Had some Vans Zapato del Barcos when they were out. Loved them. They lasted literally 20mins skating but I looked gorgeous in em.

These were the ones, they had a nice sized pocket behind the tongue, too young at the time to use the pocket for anything useful but definitely thought they were cool
