Shoes

Too much text on shoes (as in, more than the manufacturer and the model) is down there with camo on shoes, in terms of unwearability too.

I would like some so we will see if the raffle gods favour me

What is meant by having a ‘tight - booth’?

Seriously though I’m about over dunks

Currently in a dispute with a local shop for taking my money for a pair of white/gum dunks and shipping me nothing (postmodern411) incase anyone’s thinking of buying from them stay away

Funny thing is I just like wearing them there fairly comfortable don’t really skate in them but I try and support local shops as much as I can so I see some dunks sure I’ll grab a pair but man shops over here do not make it easy

I won a pair of those Polaroid dunks. Flatspot did a competition on insta where people tagged filmers who push their scene. #cmoac

I’m obviously an Emerica/Sole Tech guy, but I tried them on out of curiosity and I really do not understand the hype. So narrow, very little cushioning on the sole and a stubby toe box. Nothing special IMO.

Took me a while for someone to buy them off me, too.

Polaroid were GR so no one will give much a fuck. Used to skate them a lot BITD, then Blazers, Janoskis, Cons KA One Vulcs then Adi Super Aloha (tangent)

I like a Black/White/Gum

Should have picked up a pair of them because they won’t be dated in two weeks like all these limited bullshits but needed to buy a new oven.

I have questions about why a sandwich is on the floor but that’s none of my business.

That’s a workplace. Sandwich is under the desk. I think.

The people that matter know the difference between a Panda and the Tightbooth and the people that don’t, don’t matter…

Different blocking. A reverse Panda from a distance maybe? At a push.

I just got these, will probably remain in the box for a long time as I usually wear chillers when not skating. So that’s 364 days a year.

Do Dunks run to size?

Ha, yeah they do.

Tempted by the Neddingtons

Never been a fan of dunks, pretty stinking (sorry neddy)

I’m an 8 in almost all shoes. Run an 8 in Dunk and they’re spot on.

Only 2 brands that are off on sizing that I’ve tried are NB and adidas that come up small so I half size up.

Lakai, Vans, Emerica, Etnies, DC all correct sizing. Tried skating in vans and didn’t like it, the others all good.

Come to think of it I don’t think I’ve ever had any other brand of skate shoe, let’s not talk about Duffs.

Be interested to see what brands of shoes you guys have tried and which ones you’ve stayed loyal to. I’ll still buy Nike, Vans, NB and Lakai.

Won’t wear adidas as it’s one or the other with Nike and the sizing puts me off ordering online.

Whilst typing I remember I got some free ipaths for a while from that cool dude in Bristol, I liked those.
Also had some 88’s, adio (Kenny Anderson shoe was good).

Almost exclusively Vans for about 20 years apart from one pair of bruins i wanted to like but the fit was odd for me, three pairs of adidas because Busenitz and a pair of Lakais that are pretty good to be fair.

DC, Nike, adidas, NB and occasionally Vans for me. I’m pretty pleased with all the stuff I’ve got in recent years with the exception of some Vans, I’d only get newly designed models now like a Crockett or AVE.

Only had one pair of SB. Bruins…Liked the look of them but hated them for skating in.

I had 4-5 different pairs of Cons, but honestly the quality was so bad. I like thin shoes but this was akin to having potato sacks on your feet, too. The Lopez look sick…hopefully they’ve sorted it out a bit.

I skated a bunch of the Busenitz and they are really amazing. Possibly my favourite shoe of all time (Along with the KCK, but I don’t think I’d ever want to skate in that shoe post-vulc sole).

I had a few pairs of DC but not for 20 years, really. I’d file them under ‘fine’.
I don’t remember anything good or bad really except looks being solid.

Still not skated any NB. I have the Lost Art collab here, but haven’t worn them. I reckon NB would give me that Busenitz feel I love.

Vans kindly sent me shoes for a long, long time. Was always into them. Half cabs, Rowleys, slip ons and anything thin. But…without sounding like a paid commercial, I started to work for Sole Tech and only then realised how quickly Vans fell apart.

etnies last forever but there are only a couple of styles I am into - and they feel good. Only had a few pairs in the last couple of years since a break from about 1998.
Someone actually suggested the Joslins for filming in as they are indestructible and they weren’t wrong. I used them on 2x2 week trips, filming lines (so, dragging one foot all the time) and in the end had to give them away. They barely had a dent on them. Odd. But also, so sturdy there was no way I could skate them.

eS are like my pub shoe. Although I might start skating in the Accel Slims (replacing the insole).

Emerica have a bunch of styles I skate/like. Dickson, Pillar, Low Vulc (Which is the Reynolds 3 rebadged). Anything with the G6 insole seems to work.

I did have a late era pair of Duffs, actually. They were gifted to me.
I wore them once. Got drunk. Threw them away and went home in my socks.

Managed to get just under £100 for them, I’m not complaining!
