Most pro shoes that people have actually bought with the intention of supporting the pro in question is definitely a hard one to answer.
I remember buying multiple different generations of Nike P Rods over the space of a few years, at a time when I didn’t even know who he was. I just liked the look of the shoes (one pair had a backwards swoosh, I seem to remember) and I liked the way they lasted.

I would barely even bet the cost of a pint on whether I could discern between a Paul Rodriguez pro model and a Nike 6.0 model from the same time period.
I was never really into street skating at the time. It was all transition for me then. I’ve come to appreciate street more now. But back then I only really noticed street skaters like Daewon Song, who you’d also see doing ramp and bowl video parts.

A few years back I bought some Vans Chukkas from TKMaxx (because they were a tenner! Chukkas!) and they had some surfer’s name on them, like a Chukka with a pro insole.
I can’t remember the guy’s name but when I Googled him I found exactly three photos on the internet and he was barefoot in all of them
