I never skated Ipaths back in the day. How did that model actually skate? Like, they look nice, but I can’t get over the feeling that toe would be like skating in your Kickers school shoes
These would be Sunday best. The grasshoppers were good and the Matt field pro shoes were also good.
Knew a few heads back then that would skate the cats and they skated pretty much the same as most shoes, the piping looked a little odd but I do remember dudes skating them, I remember a dude that use to skate the globe castros as well idk how for the life of me he would skate those they are basically slippers
We lived through the rubber toe cap era, think a bit of wallaby piping is a walk in the park after that

Never skated in cats but my mate swore by them. Grasshopper and Kenny Reed’s shoe were lovely

Was in the Victoria in Dalston last night, a pub where I’m generally, at 36, one of the oldest punters, and noticed 3 people wearing Etnies. Two girls and 1 guy and they were definitely all under 25.
Im not sure what this means, just thought I’d bring this to everyone’s attention. Are Etnies back?

I’d be interested to know how popular they are at the moment, it feels like they’ve had a number of models you’d actually want to buy for a few years now.
Maybe they were skaters and they are doing the old ‘break them in at the pub’ thing

I’m down to support Etnies (Soletech) and I like what they’ve been doing recently. That said, New Balance really won my old feet over and nicked all my spending money because of it. Maybe I’ll try some etnies sooner or later.
I’m finding the 508’s excellent, they skate really well.
Haven’t skated any recently but the Marana elites were nice skated great too but those are from probably 10 yrs ago now
Anyone tried the Emerica Heretic re-re-release?
Maranas and Joslins are popular for a reason - Maranas last for ages and the Joslin sole looks similar to the Accel.
A few of their outdoors inspired shoes like the Jameson look ok too. I’ve got a few pairs of supposedly water resistant “winterized” Etnies, but nope, they let the rain in.
Cats and Lions were good to skate, didn’t last long though
