Shoes

The biggest surprise for me was that C1rca was still even going, let alone that the AL50 was still being made.

Remember when they had 2 different sub brands? C1rca Select and C1rca Combat? I actually had a pair of them and they were really nice! Never saw them anywhere else.

These ones:

Franc would NOT approve of the colourway (yeah it’s brown instead of black, but I believe he calls these “penguin shoes”) but the leather and the suede felt really premium, and they lasted well too.

Hahahahaha, I can’t believe you remember that! So ill.
I was talking about shoes with a mate and actually mentioned penguin shoes this past weekend. Haha.

There’s so much from the old forum that weirdly sticks in my head where important shit like my debit card PIN should be.

adidas Bruisers.

Love how the team page on the Circa site is just Adrian Lopez. Single handedly keeping that company going. I’m sure they put James Brockman on about a year ago? I guess since he quit being pro he quit Circa roo

Circa used to make really high quality shoes at one point as well, it’s shame that they fell off so badly.

They had a banger of a team at one point, Penny, Mu$ka, JT, Chris Cole, Appleyard, Lopez. Decent mix of styles yet all felt like they fit together

It’ll be interesting to see how that goes, not cheap though are they!

Hoodies I can understand, you can literally wear a hoody for life if you wanted but skate shoes? they last a month if lucky. I used to go through shoes in days.

They look like they are from ShoeZone or something.

The ‘3-3-20’ sneaker is our first shoe in line and is a culmination of ideas and memories formed into a physical object. The functionality and purpose of the shoe is determined by the end user and context. Re-interpretation is highly encouraged and at the core of our design philosophy.

Translation:
We made a shoe, it’s like some other shoes we’ve liked. It’s not that good to skate, they’re chillers really."

Never understood Polar/Pontus, it’s like everything he spouts is the result of hitting his head after a blow back on a spliff

Really though. “The functionality and purpose of the shoe is determined by the end user and context.” - ok then I’m gonna get one pair for snow trekking, one pair for political debate between 3am and 5pm, and a black pair for formal dinners
