Ah yeah then the originals definitely the sickest. Have two pairs that are dog earred to say the least. Have a brand new pair of 1.5s I haven’t started using yet, the originals are still so comfy
I’d say the down-side to the original Swift is the tongue, it didn’t feel quite secure as the Swift 1.5 as they have the straps either side.
Maybe just me but I always hated shoes with tongue straps. Remember a pair of Rowley XLTs where the straps pulled the tongue into a weird position on my foot

I might have to try the Swifts next. eS seem to be doing this weird thing with the insoles though. I’ve had about 10 pairs of Accel slim. Some have had proper shaped insoles in them and some have just had a flat foam footbed (that I’ve ended up ripping out and putting the old insoles in). Weird. Maybe it’s a money saving exercise? Or maybe they just want you to buy the extra insoles? Doesn’t seem like a very good way to get people to buy your shoes though.

I ordered some Accel originals a couple of years back and was dead excited but couldn’t believe how massive they were, or that that size shoe was my normal bulky preference bitd.
You must be getting a mix of older and newer stock. The newer shoes all have the shaped removable insoles.
Weird. Seems like the newer ones I’ve gotten are the ones with the flat foam insoles, like the bright red ones, the black with white sole and the Tom Asta all white before that. Prior to that they had shaped removeable insoles. Who knows?! I’m still riding them, but replacing the insoles.
Also the quality sees to be dropping. I’ve had a piece of sole fall off and the white writing in the square logo in the sole seems to peel off pretty easily too, but that’s just cosmetic stuff.
Damn, I’ve never had an issue like that… especially as I’m dragging my foot a lot with filming. DM Don Brown, maybe he’ll send you some freebies, ha!

The lettering is a given, things designed like that will always tear on any brand. but the sole edge is an issue but it will be just an isolated case.
I find the quality on all my es accels great but they never last long, that’s not what they are like that for, plenty of other es that are built to last longer.
Rating these new Swifts so far. Logo is a bit massive but I’ll live
Agreed. I don’t want them to last for ever. I still keep buying them. Just seems like they’ve changed a bit. I fear change.

I know these are selling, but I’ve still not seen anybody wearing them out in public.
Honestly still don’t get why they’ve stuck so rigidly with that model, the first one was big but these are just insane.
Big trainers are making a comeback, see it in London all the time. Not noticed any D3s but lots of massive FILAs and crazy lumpy sneakers.
I notice my fellow regulars at the shawarma shop are also into the big ugly bulbous trainer thing these days
