I actually do, shockingly. My turntable is packed away cos our house definitely shrunk when we had a baby, so there are a few records I’ve bought in the last year that I’ve only listened to the download. I will listen to them though. Don’t hate me too much.

i dont have many coffee table books but i saw bobby puleo’s little video and thought this looked pretty good. just arrived - first page i opened at random was the mysterious adidas shoe that paulo diaz wore in one of the girl/choc vids (i think) - may have turned out to be called norton’s
anyway 2 more pages at random - axion and vans danny wainwright. book is 400+ pages and it will keep me occupied for a while - 100% recommend for any one with interest in skate shoes … 10 year anniversary update to when it first came out with loads of new content

It’s nowhere near as good as the Disposables. Loads of mistakes, stuff missing and they don’t even have catalogue shots. It’s like somebody ended up with some fucked old shoes and cobbled together this with what they could find online.
The one about clothes they did was shite too, since it only really covers yellow nylon bibs and short shorts. They said they’d do a follow up about decent clothes, 1985 onwards, but I’d be surprised.

I’m always shocked that Etnies are still around, I’d happily try the Marina’s if I could get them dirt cheap or maybe the recent Sheep models but that’s the best thing I could say about them.

I’ve always found Etnies to make shoes that are ‘functionally very suitable for the act of skateboarding’. Not those ones above though.
They just haven’t been cool since about 2006.

Cupsole, nice colour way, gum sole, slight padding around collar, slim rubber toe cap. Whack a NB logo on the side and I’d be all over it. Or even an emerica logo actually.

The fact that any half decent skater seemed to be getting flowed over here devalued the company to me. Like a lot of shoe companies in the UK at the time. No-one had a board sponsor but everyone was getting free shoes. Shecks and being the BMX’ers shoe of choice didn’t help either.
