The final trick, the hippie jump quick ollie, is mad – that set is right by Stratford station and it’s horrible.

The Mile End fakie flip to roller coaster ride was crazy too. Funny how that ran in a Free interview and is now part of a SOTY run. Will that count against him?
Thought the Mallorca stuff might have worked better as a separate edit to promote his shoe, but maybe they filmed it after its release.
It was very good, but not on a soty level.

It’s probably better than the actual soundtrack - the skating was amazing as ever but that Light Asylum song they used totally sucked the life out of the edit for me. Knox’s thing is his quick feet and doing the unexpected in massive lines, and the song didn’t match his skating at all. It’s too heartfelt/slow and didn’t match the pace and electricity of Tom’s skating.
That was fucking excellent.
Yuto will get it I’m sure but Knox’s parts are re-watchable. Be great if he gets it.

The part where the Deja Vu lights flash up on the old Post Office/Old St banks…I feel like that was because he was doing variations of tricks he did a long time ago there - in the Square One video. They were possibly the same tricks.
The same for the blue stair front shuv just before it. I think he did that and a backside 360 ollie in something when he was little…
That little nollie crook on the curb was one of my favourite things I have seen on a board in years.

Nah, skater of the year can mean anything, not just the dude who risked himself the most. It could be anyone who has had a hell of a year doing what they do.
How did he do that? Middle of a hectic line on the worst curb.
