SOTY 2023

yep, so pointless but yet speaks volumes.

I enjoyed it, hope he gets it. If not it’s mildly irrelevant anyway as Tom Knox is winning at skateboarding and family life. A great role model for pro skating imho.

I kind of felt the first section felt a bit tacked on, maybe it would have worked better as a self contained mini part.

But regardless, there was loads of good stuff in there. I really liked all the long street lines. And I thought the line down all the stairs where he goes under the curved yellow rail was really well filmed.

Also the Deja Vu sign appeared in the Istanbul edit:

The red phone box that appears is also in a bunch of edits as well, but the footage is from Knox’s part from a few years ago:

Was a sick part for sure , just not sure it’s a soty

I mercifully cut it off before the crazy frog tune started

Could actually see a Euro vid using that tune!

What’s this in Tom’s part? Like a film burn or something? But it’s only one frame

Yep. A hole in the middle of a single frame of film.

That’s made my day hahahahaha

I probably don’t know Tom/Jacob’s work well enough to be able to nerd myself through this one

Disagree with people saying Tom’s part isn’t SOTY worthy.

He’s crushed this year and that part was amazing, along with his other stuff.

Feels like his year.

Yuto has plenty more years to solidify a SOTY.

Feels like Tom’s part isn’t what Thrasher are looking for. Sad to say.

Nonsense.

Thrasher back Atlantic Drift pretty hard.

Thrasher is a moving target. Only they know what they want at any given time and it seems that Tom is up there right now.

I don’t think so.

For example: Pedro’s part was intense. Jawdropping moments. Not as good as Milton’s as I said before, but there are some facemelters in there.

You watch his and Tom’s part back to back, I know whose had more impact on me.

And this is viewed through the lens of what thrasher are looking for that tick the boxes for SOTY.

I bet you one selfie of Alex DeCunha that it’s not Tom @nav

A slam or two might have helped. He’s probably so good he doesn’t slam, but it may have made it a bit more hellride, or at least the British equivalent

Tom for me, Pedro was great yeah but there was something missing and he just seems like one of them kids that love to eat blu-tack.

Do we know if Yuto has a part yet to drop?
That’ll be the clincher.
